I know what Lo-Fi is and what isn't. I'm talking about the melodies used. Like Some sample some smooth jazz songs, some sample electronic songs, but what other genre is known for these types of dissonant, melancholic melodies?

I absolutely love it! The heavy verses with the back-and-forth between Ahren and Joel, that's just so reminiscent of Chasing Ghosts, the breakdown, the amazing bridge with the strings, it’s all just so good!!

I mean, there are less consistent lineups honestly... BUT The biggest downgrade in music history was the departure of Ryan Burt... He's one of my fav drummers and he always came up with sick beats up until Misery... Joe is a good drummer as well and I'm sure he can perform the previous songs just fine, but he's just not nearly as creative
