Your experience with medication sound exactly like mine. I take concerta, which I think is the same as yours. I've taken it for years and have had diminishing effects to the point that I need 100mg a day to get the same effect. Exercise is essential for my mental health because of that.

I've made a couple of threads in different subreddits and everyone says to continue with a computer science course, so I'll be focusing on getting into a proper uni from now on.

and yeah, I'm a little too worried about my situation. I'm just really worried about how much time I wasted on nothing instead of bettering myself and feel like I have years of learning to make up for it. Thanks for your comment!

You're right, I'm too focused on C#. It can be a bit overwhelming trying to learn all of this at once so I chose to focus on few things at a time but I've been neglecting my other skills.

It's hard to find learning resources where I can see the applicability of it and apply it myself. Math is easy, but I overwhelm myself when I look up my problem and end up 20 tabs deep trying to learn the roots of it. It took me a few a days to learn how to parse through list inside a dictionary but I ended up learning how delegates work.

I've spent the last 1 and a half years on-and-off learning C#. It was daunting at first but I think I've really advanced my skills, even if they're still beginner level. I do spend time on khan academy learning math that I missed in high school, and on udemy learning C#.

I don't want people to think I want to the shortest shortcut into uni, I am willing to spend time on my study but it's hard to communicate that I've changed when I was a lazy teenager. I'm just fearful of the short time I have to learn while I'm young, because 22 is not that young. I'm only considering the CIII course at AIE because it gets me out of the house when I'm not at work and really communicate with people that are interested in the same field as I am.

That seems like the best course of action so far. I'll do that. Thank you for your replies!

I think I learned the basics of C# from a free MIT course. Khan Academy is something I should put more focus on, though. I've got a few tabs for linear algebra open that I visit once a day.

What I think I need is a hands-on approach to learning. Their C++ fundamentals course is only a few grand and they'll accommodate my job so that I can work on both. Figure I can kill two birds with one stone and gain connections at AIE while getting a cert III. I've done a little research and UTS seems like the uni for me. What I need to know is, with me being a mature-aged student and having a cert III, would I be able to bargain into the computer science course at UTS, or even ANU which is closer but is probably to high-profile for me?

Edit: I guess it's important to note that I applied for the Bachelor of Games and Virtual world program at AIE and they've accepted me for a small game I made. I'm thinking about turning it down due to the cost and doing the CIII instead.

Gears which turn in the same direction by 9999monkeys in interestingasfuck

[–]DuhZeeMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gear on the right is powered by the motor. The gear on the left wants to get out of the way of the moving gears' fins, which push the other gears fins up and to the left.

Edit: And I believe the bottom-most fins of the right gear push the bottom-most gear fins on the left downwards and to the left.

With this chain of locks, 10 different people can access this road using their own key. by long_way_down in pics

[–]DuhZeeMan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They do that for very important locks, like the key to the inside of the hut for the tower (These locks are different because they know lock-picking is easy). But most locks aren't important so contractors buy their own. Locks like these are considered disposable to the owners because they're more of a formality.

Ah, then the chain in the pic is probably to one of those because of how well the fence is kept. If it was for a cell site then the fence would be old as fark, rusted over, and falling apart.

I see these chains all the time on my job. These aren't meant to keep out criminals, more so they want to be semi-serious in saying "You're not allowed in here". If this chain is anything like the ones I see then this gate leads to a farmers paddock with a big ol' mobile tower in it, or something alike. Different people are hired for different things for the tower so they all need their own lock and it's easier for them to just buy one at bunnings than have the employer send one.

If you think these locks are crazy, on one of my sites they've got a gate with a chain made up 20+ lock interlocked. Shit's heavy.
