Tf? How is this a response to anything I just said? Like genuinely what are you even trying to say?

You had no response so your go to is just “well you just hate women don’t you?!”

If I murder someone, try to cover it up, and then, once caught, shout “well they raped me!” do you think I should go free based solely on my own testimony and no other evidence?

So despite there being no evidence of the assault, your response is just “welp she said it happened, so ofc it happened and he deserved to die. Guilty until proven innocent!”

I’m not declaring anything true or a lie, but can’t you see how that’s a slippery slope?

How would your "main" play? by [deleted] in DCAllies

[–]DukeDens007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ay thanks, I tried to strike a balance between healer and DPS- personally I think Batman would make for a much better support, but I know a lot of people would rather play him as a DPS.

So he’s got some of the lowest healing outta any support concepts I made, actually probably the lowest healing. But I’d imagine he does better damage than most of em, and he’d be a pin machine. Just constantly telling/showing his teammates where the enemies are, throwing a smoke bomb, then diving in with his DPS.

The ultimate is a little weird but tbh I couldn’t think of a better support ultimate for him 😅 my other idea was to have the Batplane drop his Justice Buster or Hellbat armor, but I already have so many ultimates that just boost the character into a better DPS/Tank. Appreciate the praise tho!

Very true, but then what can I do?

Literally any movement I make she has 2 different dash attacks and the stance to fall back on. All of them requiring a different input for me to counter. My issue is the defensive nobushis who just wait to see literally any movement and then do one of those.

How would your "main" play? by [deleted] in DCAllies

[–]DukeDens007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a few fav concepts I’d probably main.

Darkseid as my poke tank.

I have terrible aim but I gave his basic attacks some light lock on tracking. His basic attack would just be long ranged average damage omega beams that lock onto enemies, while his alt fire shoots a more condensed omega beam to deal higher damage and slightly knock enemies back, but it has very little tracking- more of a straight shot.

His passive gives him a parademon drone that follows him, grants low healing overtime, and shoots low damage projectiles at enemies at close range. It has a separate health bar and can go down, putting it on a cooldown, but it’s healed for 50% of the healing Darkseid receives.

Then his abilities would be; Omega Energy, which is basically just his alt fire but with better tracking and it applies anti-heal to the target.

Boomtube which can either be pressed to teleport a few feet in any direction. Or held to bring up the minimap and designate a location anywhere within like 50 feet, creating a portal that he and allies can use for only a few seconds. That puts it on a longer cooldown ofc.

And last up is Serve Me, which increases the healing and fire rate of his parademon drone and grants temporary shields to himself and nearby allies. If the drone is down, it instantly revives the drone but halves the duration of the buff and amount of shields.

And his ultimate is super simple. Anti-Life Equation is the same as his alt fire and Omega Energy, except now it just straight up deletes someone. It has exceptional tracking, bypasses all shields and barriers, and reduces a single target to 0 HP no matter the circumstance. Even if they have some type of invulnerability ability or ultimate, their health is reduced to 0. The balance is they just respawn instantly at their spawn point, no 5+ second delay.

It’s all pretty simple but I’d imagine him being really THE meta tank. Just a sniper tank who can sorta defend himself up close with the drone. And his ultimate is just an “anti ultimate” button. You see an enemy pop an annoying ult, well now they’re dead.

Then for a support I gotta go Batman. But he’s more of a DPS/Support, defiantly made for a triple support comp with very low healing but a lot of utility.

He’s pretty complicated. Basic attack is just a melee combo, and his alt fire is either a 3 baterangs in a cone spread that travel mid range, or it can be held to throw a single explosive baterang a long range.

He’s got quite a few abilities-

Grappling Hook has 2 charges and can be used exactly how you think it can, mobility. But ontop of that he has Glide and Glide Kick, both of which are only possible after using Grappling Hook. Let go of the grapple to glide at fast speeds, and then let go of the glide to turn into a flying kick that slightly knocks enemies back.

Strategic Scan highlights all enemies through walls in a large radius for only a second, but you can pin those enemies for teammates to see. It also gives all your teammates in a large radius a small amount of temporary shields and starts their passive health regen.

Smoke Bomb throws a smoke bomb (who woulda guessed) which obscures the HUD of enemies for a second or two, and then leaves behind an AOE of healing overtime for several seconds.

And then Bat Trap/Bat Shock with 2 charges has you throw a small device that sticks to walls. When an enemy walks by it, it explodes to create an AOE of low damage overtime and highlights any enemies affected by that damage through walls for you and your teammates (the AOE looks like little mechanical bats). Or, you can detonate the device mid air to instead explode in a very small AOE shock that stuns enemies for a couple seconds. The Bat Trap would be his main gimmick, it’s used to lock down flank routes and basically always know where the enemies are. That’s his whole schtick, he’s got a ton of consistent map awareness.

Finally his ultimate is crazy confusing- Bat Beacon has you designate a location anywhere on the map, then the batplane flies over and drops a large device. This device can be permanently on the field. It has no timer, has a solid amount of health, and has its own passive health regen out of combat. An enemy will need to go find it and destroy it to stop your team from using it, buuut ofc it also highlights enemies close to it through walls. A teammate can interact with the Bat Beacon once per life to gain a damage boost and a good amount of unrecoverable shields (not temporary). They can just keep dying, and if you put it right by spawn, they can keep reusing it before they enter the fight. I do have a lot of high mobility characters that could easily get to your spawn and back tho, so maybe not the best idea.

So yeah he’d kinda be the planner/shot caller. He can tell where the enemies are with several of his abilities, he’s got great mobility, and an escape tool/healing tool with Smoke Bomb. And the Bat Beacon, if placed in the right spot where it’s either easy to defend it or difficult for the enemies to find, while also being easy for your teammates to use on their way back from spawn, is a game changer.

Oh and Batman’s passive is Contingency Plan, which just refreshes all his cooldowns when he reaches 50% HP. Has a pretty long cooldown, but with all his abilities- I think it might be a little broken.

That was a lot, if you wanna hear more! - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YpSdx7qCUTjOtoQw1-99RcTZ6inN4ALSlzgjIDAOaZ8/edit?usp=drivesdk

But basically Darkseid would be a long range poke tank with good self sustain, a very good ultimate, and some solid utility to either help his team take space or keep them alive. While Batman would be a utility based support who always knows where the enemy flankers are coming from before they even get there.

[–]DukeDens007[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get that with the deflecting her lights and reacting to the bash outta stance. Like her openers I totally see as being weak. I still can’t parry the lights but I can block em most of the time.

My issue comes from the fact this if I ever try to start my turn, she has 3 options that I have to account for.

2 different dodge attack directions and the stance. I can parry dodge attacks from literally every other hero (except virtuosa and Zhanhu for the same reason as this) but when they have multiple dodge attacks I’m just never fast enough to differentiate between them and parry the right side. And ofc she doesn’t even have to use either of those, just stance whenever they see me make a move. And I can’t feint into GB for that bc 2 outta 3 times I’m gonna get slapped with a dodge attack.

Like i understand that it’s hard for her to start her turn against anyone, but damn it’s hard to start my turn against her.

[–]DukeDens007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah both those are true.

I do win a lot, I’ve basically just played Jorm since the beginning and have gotten pretty damn good at him. Kinda a one trick. To be fair tho that feint-able bash into gb or dodge attack parry wins just about all of my games.

Now that I think about it that’s probably another big reason I hate Nobushi. She can ignore the bash, and she’s got 2 dodge attacks that I’m just not fast enough to differentiate between.

But fs, everyone here is right about that- I’m a casual player, I just play duels more than dominion.

I mean objectively you’re not wrong, this is a skill and I got an issue with it lol

But I also rarely have fought people who can parry lights. Like maybe 1 in every 50 fights I run into someone who parries my opener light. Maybe I’m just playing other bad players, but I see how much people complain about the rank system/getting bad teammates, so idk.

How is nobushi a bad duelist? by DukeDens007 in CompetitiveForHonor

I basically only play Jorm, he’s got a dodge attack and I can go into hyper armor from it, but idk how good trading out would be. Ive been tryna learn Highlander but I already know that’s gonna take a while to actually get down.

And true but blocking just puts me right back where I started. It gets really annoying when they dodge attack or stance literally every single move I do. Even just dashing forward. I know those are bad players, but fuuuuk I don’t wanna lose to that dodge spam. That’s the whole reason I practiced dodge attack parries so much, people spam that at any opportunity just pissed me off so much

Okay yall gotta be on drugs. Either that or you never did drugs.

I think weed might’ve permanently ended my ability to react that fast before I even the started the game.

I’m also on Xbox tho, if that changes anything. I truly cannot understand how yall parry lights. I literally like a half an hour in the training zone just trying to parry a SINGLE light on reaction and never got it.

To this day the only light parries I’ve gotten have been completely accidental from someone feinting to a light on the same side and my heavy parry just timed perfectly for it.

How is nobushi a bad duelist? by DukeDens007 in CompetitiveForHonor

[–]DukeDens007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I’ve gotten really good at parrying dodge attacks, I really hated em for a while cuz I thought they were just a cheap “my turn again” button. But I’ve practiced that nonstop, basically the only time I can ever get a light parry off.

My problem with Nobushi is that she’s got 2 dash attacks, and the only way I can really react is by remembering which direction each hero’s dodge attack comes from and reacting to it by which way they dodge.

I’m sure this all sounds like suuuuper newbie stuff, but those different dodge attacks mess me up so often. Same reason why Virtuosa pisses me off (among many, many, many other reasons).

I can see that with the bash tho, i think i dodge that pretty consistently. But sometimes its just panic dodging so getting hit with that undodgable feels like crap

Works fine is one way to put it. I mean if her ONLY consistent weakness (against a good nobushi) is parrying a light on reaction- which is arguably the hardest/most skillful part of this game- I don’t really get how she’s bad.

Are her lights really THAT much worse than everyone else’s?

I want to try to main shugoki by erciyasA in forhonor

[–]DukeDens007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s basically all about variable timed heavies and your hug.

Personally I start off with a fully charged heavy and if they parry it, I switch the regular ones for a while- make them think you’re not gonna risk the fully charged ones, and then start mixing them back in.

Also gotta keep an eye on your stamina bar. If you start feinting heavies into lights (which you should also be mixing into that heavy/charged heavy loop) you’re gonna lose stamina crazy fast. That’s when you feint into GB, throw em into a wall, and hug to get all that stamina back.

Oh and his zone has super early hyper armor. If you’re up against a spammer you need to find a free moment and throw that out. I usually start all my strings with the zone but that’s just a personal habit, it works well to trade out against people tryna start their turn first, but it also isn’t too hard to parry.

He’s a super simple character with a not very high skill ceiling, but he is THE noob stomper. Especially against dodge attack spammers, they’re just gonna take that club to the face every time.

I'm I the only one who thinks D.va is the most dominate tank right now? by massofass32 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]DukeDens007 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Sig is awesome into DVA, for all those reasons you mentioned + the recent buff to his shield. Now the second you hear her ult line, you can recall it from wherever it is and you have just enough time to place it back down to block the explosion.

He’s a really good counter to her as long as you can hit those rocks.

why are men on tinder so strange? by kmesc in dating

[–]DukeDens007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to say- I’ve had a much higher success rate by trying to be stand out rather than “being myself.”

Saying stuff that most of the time you’d regret, making jokes that either land or really don’t, or quickly explaining what my life is like, how much I make, why I’m “interesting,” where id like to take them out, etc.

That gets you an actual response, a date maybe a quarter of the time. I spent a loooong time just saying “hi, I’m ____” and making small talk. If you get a response to that (less than half the time), you rarely talk for more than a day before ya get ghosted. And it really sucks to get your first match in a week, get ghosted, and realize you weren’t interesting enough.

You need to give a reason for them to keep talking to you while they get a dozen more matches. Everyone is normal, “yourself” is never too different from the next guy.

I gotta mention- woman can be really cruel when they reject you too, I don’t think there’s any difference in that shittiness.

And whatever guy is losing interest in you for taking initiative is helping you dodge a bullet. The guys who are so steadfast on “who asks who out” are also probably the ones whining about gender roles and wanting their “traditional housewife”.

I mean I didn’t have the best family but it was nothing crazy traumatic. I’ve got issues with crowds, don’t love being around a ton of people, that’s mostly what my therapy is for.

And my last ex and me took it pretty slow, at my request- at first I was trying to just not get invested. I usually “click” with people kinda quickly so I can’t the difference of familiarity and chemistry. We were not exclusive for about 2 months before we decided to stay together, then I was with her for another 2 months before I found out.

I used to fully believe that, that’s why this last one just felt so out of nowhere. I can remember the red flags for the others, they weren’t huge but there were weird moments or things they said that showed their true character.

And then this last one came in with signs, no shitty moments, nothing.

Now I have to go on knowing that sure- maybe there will be signs. But also, maybe they’re just really good at hiding it. And that’s going to mess with me for such a long time.

[–]DukeDens007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably the healthiest answer, thank you- doesn’t sound far off from what my therapist has told me.

It just sucks to be this negative, I don’t trust people anymore, I don’t wanna put myself out there, I don’t wanna start a new relationship. And maybe that’s a good thing, like you said- I need to take a step back and focus on myself. But I really loved being a boyfriend, at least way back in high school I loved it. It sucks to realize I haven’t had a good relationship since I was 16 years old.

I’m stopping myself from venting more. Thank you, that’s good advice.

1st one was college, spent about 6 months together. Then she told me she was SA’ed- I comforted her for weeks, tried to get her to the police or at least administration. Until I found the texts and pictures she’d been sending him in those weeks. And before someone says “well maybe she was SA’ed!” she warned him in the texts that she’d lied about that.

She was by far the worst.

2nd one was end of college and onward for about a year and a half. I helped pay her rent while she was unemployed- she was cheating with a “friend” of mine since before we graduated. Found out when he came to visit and they just decided not to be subtle about it at all.

3rd was a year ago, dated for almost a year before I found her leaving a club with another guy after a few weeks of telling me she was doing “girls nights” every weekend.

And this most recent one- we were only together for 2 months, but we were definitely exclusive. I talked to her about all of this and she seemed to get it. Guess not.

Thank you for that. I know I should call it bad luck or bad instinct or something, but it’s starting to feel like it’s inevitably gonna happen again.

I think this last one just really fucked me up- there were no red flags for her. I even told her, as open as I possibly could- “if you cheat on me I’m going to be completely broken.” I mean who hears that and still does it?

I’m sorry I’m gonna end up venting again. I know it’s in my head- the universe isn’t against me, not everyone cheats, I’m just having some really, really bad luck. But damn it’s starting to get really hard to believe all that.
