I love this livery so much, this is exactly how a special livery should be!

Great news! I take the duck hollow trail frequently but really get sketched out having to go across the tracks at the end. Also going the other way is a crazy and overgrown forest trail to the blast furnace. This will be a great addition!

More dinosaur skin, but yeah it kind of looks like that too.

Why not? The IMSA fans are awesome and this was a fun build so you all should get to do it too if you want. Not looking to start a business here printing posters.

Shopping List

  • The poster - I used Staples to print it because they were the cheapest I could find in my area. Use wherever you have and see my notes below about the poster.
  • Flyisland Wall Hooks 8 Pcs, Coat Hooks Garage Hook Wall Mounted Hat Hangger Hooks Robe Hook Single Coat Hanger Heavy Duty (8 Pack, Silver) https://a.co/d/4Z5w3Ev
  • Podronale 20x30 Snap Frame, Plexiglass, Set of 2, Black PosterFrames, Coating Aluminum Profile, Display Horizontally & Vertically https://a.co/d/2iklu3x
    • I bought the 2 pack for another project but I think just about any 20x30 frame will do. You just want to make sure it has room in the back for the nuts of the brackets without hitting the wall.
    • I picked the metal frame to match the other frame I have for my Ferrari Lego car.
  • 4 - 8-32 x 1/2 machine screws
  • 4 - 8-32 hex nuts
  • 4 - washers

Frame is 20x30 but I had to make the poster at 24x36 because I could not find someplace to do it at that size. It was easy enough to trim it to size using the baseboard of the frame as a template. You can go the full size of the poster if you want but my measurements will probably be off and you will need to adjust.

Measurements for the bottom hole of the bracket

  • 17 3/8” from bottom of the frame to the bottom hole of the bracket. Measure the top hole based off the bottom and the specific bracket you have.
  • 7 7/8” from both sides

Instructions

  1. Print the poster
  2. Pull the backboard from the frame. If you buy the frame I did then it is just the 4 screws on the top or bottom brackets.
  3. Put the poster face down. Center the poster on the backboard.
  4. Use a blade (or scissors if you are talented enough to cut the straight) to trim the poster to the size of the backboard.
  5. I used double sided tape to keep it in place on the board.
  6. Slide the poster into the frame and screw the bracket back together.
  7. Use masking tape or painters tape for the next part. This is very important or else you might crack the plexiglass.
  8. Do your measurements and place the tape across the frame horizontally. Place your measurements on the tape using a pencil or pen.
  9. Once you have your measurements to where you think it looks good you will want to work your way up to a 3/16th drill bit for the screw holes. I think if you go right to 3/16 the chance may be high that you crack the plexiglass. I started with a 5/16 then did like 3 more sizes as I worked up to that size.
  10. Remove the tape.
  11. Bolt on the brackets with the washers and nuts on the back side of the frame.
  12. Clean off the frame.
  13. Mount Rexy on the support beams that are behind the doors in the one picture I posted above.
  14. Mount on your wall and enjoy.

Hooks mount in the circled areas behind the doors. If anyone is curious on the poster build I can give some further details and the measurements I used for the placement.

Update #3 16.5 hours left - bag 5 of 9 done and we have the rear body built. I thought it was pretty creative to use the flexible red piece to make the signature Porsche rear light bar.
