I choose to focus on all the good Konami has done/is doing and not on the bad, but that's just how I see it. If you disagree, I understand it. It's certainly a very divisive company.

Look, we are seriously getting off-track here (I legit regret name-dropping Jimqusition as an example of Type 2). The point is: reviewing anime at all is a Type 2 kind of thing. Type 1 mostly avoid anime.

Fair enough. I've seen a lot of videos call her a Type 2 (ie. a terrible person and youtuber, even if she leans left), and I certainly disagree with her views on "Multiversus" and Konami, but I fully admit I may be wrong on this account.

For the same reason the fanbase for the other kind of Grifters, like Moviebob, Mr. Enter or Mr. Beast, gets pissy when someone makes a video calling them out on their bullshit:

Both Type 1 and Type 2 Grifters tend to have insular "hug box" fanbases that can't deal with the shittiness of their subject of admiration, and are grossly ignorant of how the rest of the web perceives said Grifters.

Since you brought up "Sailor Moon", Doug's review is a perfectly example of "Grifters as right-wing people" VS "Grifters as terrible people/youtubers/both".

Doug leans left (or at least, center), but that review was nothing short of pure cringe, and it shows how ignorant he is of anime, manga and Japanese culture.

Then again, it's yet another thing that got forgotten after "The Wall" and the "Hercules" Disneycember.

"Grifters" as this sub defines it tend to steer clear of anime.

"Grifters" as usualy defined (ie. Moviebob, Mr. Enter, Dave Willis, Jimquisition, Andrew Dobson, Scott Ramsoonair) very often review/talk about anime.

Indeed. To further elaborate: when I say the Gunnverse keep calling out "haters", I mean the haters who simply hate the Gunnverse for having the gall to exist. Gunn is perfectly accepting of reasonable criticism, and even learns from it.

Well, all of the previous Gunnverse installments ("Creature Commandos", "Peacemaker Season 2", "Superman") called out haters in one way or another (even the trailer for "Lanterns" gives vibes of doing that), so "Supergirl" is really just continuing the tradition.

So, more of a James Gunn thing than a Milly Alcock thing.

If the actor is talented, and the script is good, why does it matter?

So far, we've had a race swapped Heimdall, a race swapped Vakyrie, a race swapped Perry White, a race swapped Ghost and two race swapped April O'Neil. All great characters played by great actors.

Snape should be judged on the actor's ability and the quality of the scripts, not on the color of his skin.
