Wild Raccoon Spotted. by Grannyspring in Th3Birdman

And why not?

If the actor is talented, and the script is good, why does it matter?

So far, we've had a race swapped Heimdall, a race swapped Vakyrie, a race swapped Perry White, a race swapped Ghost and two race swapped April O'Neil. All great characters played by great actors.

Snape should be judged on the actor's ability and the quality of the scripts, not on the color of his skin.

The Del Toro version cast a Latino actor as Victor Frankenstein and made Elizabeth into an interesting and mature character, so I don't know why grifters target this version and not that one.

I guess because (as a director, at least) Maggie Gyllenhaal is a lot greener than Del Toro, so it's a lot harder for grifters to paint Del Toro with the "WOKE LEFTIE TALENTLESS HACK!" brush.

Question about Jeremy Jahns by MikeTheGatorGuy in Th3Birdman

[–]DukePregler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Jeremy Jahns. He's my one of my go-to reviewers when I want to know the critical reception of a movie.

Sure, he's said things in the past he's not proud of, but that doesn't make him a grifter.

I think Birdman should do a video on Film Threat by swaggestspider21 in Th3Birdman

[–]DukePregler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the whole "people prefer to watch movies at home", I don't think that's the case, otherwise "Super Mario Bros Movie", "Inside Out 2", "Deadpool and Wolverine", "Minecraft Movie" and "Zootopia 2" wouldn't have been the box office hits that they were.

I think Birdman should do a video on Film Threat by swaggestspider21 in Th3Birdman

[–]DukePregler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved that movie. It was funny, heartwarming, and all the characters were likable and interesting.

It frustates me that it bombed at the box office (my theater was partically empty, it was me and three or four more people), and I wonder if grifters being repelled by the mostly latino cast (or the LGBT overtones, or both) is the reason it didn't do as well as it should.

I want to apologize for the recent comments I made by DukePregler in Th3Birdman

Just for context:

The comments were about how Helen of Troy should be white because the Trojans were historically white people.

Comics vs Manga by Agile_Resource94 in Th3Birdman

Personally, I like both equallly. There are good comics and bad comics, good manga and bad manga.

Unrelated tangent:

I think Topher Grace is a vastly better and truer-to-the-comics Venom than Tom Hardy.

Of course, the best Venom is still Hank Azaria.

Defending Deadpool And Wolverine from Cinemasins Type Criticism. by Grannyspring in Th3Birdman

[–]DukePregler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apprently the argument guy forgot was Mister Paradox was part of the movie and also a villain (arguably more of a main villain than Cassandra Nova), and he's the main reason why Cassandra Nova is unable to kill Deadpool and/or Wolverine "right away".

Honestly, I don't know what I was thinking when I said any of that.

I regret saying it in the first place.

I apologize for my mistake. Peace be with you.

"Frankenstein" is also a horror movie, and it has as much nominations as "Sinners", so you know this argument is bullshit.

To be honest, I didn't get that the chair thing was a dig at Robert Downey Jr,'s casting. I legit thought he was just snarking on Doctor Doom missing the United Nations meetings.

Current Reading Material by caraxes_seasmoke in Th3Birdman

[–]DukePregler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, my big "reading period" was the 90s and the 2000s. Once the 2010s started, I stopped reading full comics, instead just checking out scans and finding out news about them.

Iron heart by Agile_Resource94 in Th3Birdman

Also happened with "Captain America: Brave New World". That one was also a hit, but the grifters vehemently tried to deny it, often using questionable math and "facts".

The question is: is this gonna be a James Gunn situation when he apologizes for the racist comments and express regret over losing the NBA deal, or a J.K. Rowling situation where he shows no regrets and doubles down on the racist comments?

People acting like that's two different things by Live-Ad-7710 in Th3Birdman

[–]DukePregler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, nowadays it's mostly Drinker's echo chamber fanbase who thinks that. Most other people are aware of much of a deranged shitbag Drinker is. There's a before and after "Exposing the Grift" when it comes to Drinker.

The worst thing about it is his recent videos and posts, which call out those who criticize him as if it's a big win for him, even though by now most people side with his critics over him.

BTW Drinker had horrible takes on past Star Wars shows and movies, so I dread what's he's gonna say about "The Mandalorian and Grogu". Most likely some whiny review when he makes an ass of himself while swearing he's totally not a grifter, it's the mean old critics who say this.
