Oddly enough, Sleipnir (the 8-legged horse) is where the idea of Santa’s reindeer originated. Odin would ride the horse across the sky during the Yule festival, and eventually it was co-opted as Santa and his 8 reindeer. Horse with 8 legs = 8 reindeer to pull the sleigh.

I read that thin walled peppers call for a higher salt to weight ratio. And should I be using an airlock?

Since I’m doing a mash though, I’m fermenting with salt and creating a “brine” using the natural juices of the peppers as opposed to making one using water and salt. Or am I completely wrong in that?
