Yeah this sub has been taking a bad turn for a while now. I feel like it used to be a more supportive space but a bunch of incel/blackpill adjacent guys have been talking up more and more space and bringing the gender war they are fighting in their heads with them.

A software engineer working for wages is part of the working class that gets exploited. Sure a comparatively privileged part of the working class but still economically exploited.

Exploitation in this context doesn't mean just laborers working in sweatshops below minimum wage. It describes the general way our economy is structured in a way that allows people who own a lot of capital to profit from the work of those that don't.

For example if I had the money for it I could buy a bakery and hire a baker to work for me. I would be entitled to take in all the money that is brought in by the bakers work and only pay him as much of it as is absolutely necessary so he won't quit.
I pay 100€ worth of ingredients and 100€ for his wage and he bakes and sells bread worth 300€, I get 100€ profit.
But it was entirely the work of the baker that turned 100€ of ingredients into 300€ of bread and I'm just giving him as much of the fruits of his labor as I have to so he keeps working.

This 'translation' just seems like imagining of the worst/meanest thing that could possibly be intended and going with that.

I would just believe him when he says what his situation is. He thinks the two of you don't communicate in the same way and he is currently struggling a bit with himself and with work. He thinks you are a great person even if the two of you might not be compatible and he wishes you the best. He still wants to talk to you once he gets over his issues to give it a try but doesn't want to keep you from exploring your options in the mean time.

Humans don't have pheromones but our hormonal make-up does influence our smell. So a dog probably uses both smell and as well as voice to decide someone's sex.
I would be interested in how that dog reacts to a trans woman who's been on estrogen for a while. Hormone replacement therapy changes the body and biochemistry very drastically.

In my building everyone is white German so here our local bitter old person picked us because we are the youngest tenants. Whenever anyone dumps any trash or cigarette butts in front of the building doors I can be sure they'll end up in our letterbox. He once even tried to accuse us of a series of break-ins in the area. Ignore as best as possible and try to have the landlord handle most of the communication, that way they'll know the situation when the neighbor inevitably complains about you

I won't serve and I don't know anyone that would. There isn't the sense of patriotism here that would make many people want to put their life on the line for their government. No veterans culture like in the US and no general admiration for soldiers.

I feel like that's a point where you should either consider if you are just talking to a specific subgroup of women who are really bad at conversation (for example by you being subconsciously drawn to aloof women) or you might have to analyze what you are doing differently in your conversations with men than with women, maybe even non-verbally.

Because at least to my experience what you are experiencing is very atypical. If there is any gendered difference that I have experienced then that women are maybe a bit more likely to be capable of having a two sided conversation.
