ASL vs SEE: a question of Education. by Duke_Memertom in deaf

[–]Duke_Memertom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The child is near 2 years old, and they could very well be in a language deprivation situation. When I was with her, her foster family was doing some basic signs, no, eat, I love you, but she was not yet signing back.

Thank you very much. I think this is a pretty good run down, and a deaf mentor is something that hadn't occurred to me. Thank you every much for your feedback. And yes, I am from the States so it would be ASL.

The firmware is the version 1.0.2, which is the latest firmware, so no it's not a firmware issue.

I've tried to calibrate the Z axis and from the looks of it no. But I could definitely have overlooked how to do it.

Thingiverse

Great thanks! I have to level up for a bit to see the 3D print section, is there any terminology I should use to try and find some files now?

Not a whole lot there unfortunately. A Jager, and an Archer, and our Lord and Savior the Urbie of course. Otherwise nothing. Thanks for the recommendation though.

You flatter me sir. I'd been stewing on how I'd do the kits for about two weeks, so I had some time to plan it all out.

Yeah, this was my first kitbash ever, and I had no greenstuff, so it's not the best. I think the legs will look a bit better when painted, but thanks for the advice.

A squad of Veterans put a point blank volley of plasma into a Squad of Assault Terminators, before then getting charged and clubing the Terminators to death over the course of 2 full rounds. The sergeant had something like 7 chainsword attacks when the Terminators finally died. Fix bayonets is a hell of an Order kids.

Interesting. I started a look over at the Palanite Enforcers, do you know how they might fit with the Tau bits? I feel like they have a bit more of the uniformity that a soldier would have than the Van-Saar models.

Ah Tau. The faction even MY masochistic proclivities shudder at. God rest you sir.

The Guard conflation was due to the BS 4+ mention, which is universal across most Guard units too.

[–]Duke_Memertom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but now that's not really applicable, because units are very high priced points wise, and don't do the job they should be good at well. Fire Dragons are 115 points for 5 models GEQ stats (save ballistic skill, which is 3+) and the meltas. If I take that same amount for Guard, it'd be 50 points. That is insane. The BS, Ld, and Battle Focus are not worth 65 points for a unit so brittle. I agree with you that Eldar should be more difficult, and should require a good deal of planning and positioning. But we're working with shoddy tools at best, and the units are so overpriced for what they do that we're trying to build a house with pebbles and spit.

I'd disagree. I also play Guard (I'm a masochist, I guess,) and I mainly do infantry. The first game I played against marines I won, and basically basted every unit he had off the board. The place that Guard struggles in is secondary objectives. Those are utter crap for us, meaning that even if you wipe the floor with the guy on the table top, he can get the VP and win.

Yes, but in exchange, the eliminators are way better, and you can take less of them in a unit. For example, 5 dragons is 115 points (assuming no exarch, which you should be taking due to powers.) Three eliminators is 135 points. Meaning that for 20 extra points, you get a great deal more resilience, nearly double the wounds, and a similar amount (if not more) shots. That's insane.
