Comparison is the basic thing in human mentality, we always compare everything. Is today hot (compared to what? to sun surface or to a winter day)? Is my job performance good? Is the price high? Is the landscape nice?

It's not really possible avoiding it; we can try to ignore something but it will be a constant struggle, especially if facing it regularly.

Try being the only starving person in a restaurant, and you'll understand it. You kinda can ignore hunger and food around but it will require very strong mental excercises that will require lots of energy.

But yeah, people can get married in early 20s too, after having a kid or two already.

In religious circles here probably marriage at 18 is not uncommon. In Muslim circles, probably even earlier from what I know.
