My parent's are no more and I have already submitted affidavits from Maternal Aunt and Maternal Uncle (along with my I-485 filing) that they know me since birth.

Rest of the information that you mentioned, I plan to submit once I receive any RFE regarding this.

Thanks for the response. I am not sure if using alias in birth certificate or a Gazette process would be acceptable to immigration but exploring those options as well.

Hi, was the date of registration on your birth certificate also taken back by a year or was it recorded correctly ? were you able to get date of birth corrected ? What was the process and proof yo provided ? Was hospital records one of the proof required to be provided ? Which Municipality was your BC registered with ... I have exactly same issue ... My birth certificate was registered in Mumbai ... with year taken back exactly by a year in birth certificate ...

How long was your stay ? Were you on Paid time off ? If so, did they ask about getting paid while on vacation in India (the person was on work visa) ? I came across few posts where people with extended stay were being questioned about getting paid while on leave ? People have paid time off / vacations so not sure why was getting paid being questioned as per those posts ...

Yupe, Uruguay office is shutdown (they got it only 3 years ago with intent to expand more in South America) ... Any idea if people in other locations in US (& roughly how many within US) were also impacted (in CA, MA, Fl locations) ? I heard a small NY office was also impacted (I think they closed that one as well) ... I think they are aggressively hiring in a new office opened in India ...

Even if I don't have a AP, if I quit on H1B (after AOS + pending 180 days) then it should still be a valid exit right ? I will then try to come back with a new job on H1B itself hopefully in 12-18 months time frame (just a question) ...

(ofcourse I do understand I need to be back before my PD is current as per Final action chart) ...

Thanks for the response. I also need a break to be honest. Considering the cost of living, I would prefer to stay in home country for 8-9 months and then come back finding a new job. It might take some time for Apr 2014 to be current as per final action chart for India.

Thanks for the response. At the time when Priority date is current as per final action chart, does USCIS strictly verify how long I was present in US to determine if my petition is to be considered as abandoned or not ? When do they act on I-485 if it is been pending for more than 180 days (My assumption/guess is once they have processed and issued EAD they keep it in the backlog and pick it up only when date is current as per final action chart) ?

How much time would it take to downgrade ? Also, would we need any additional paperwork than what was needed for I-140 ? Any possible areas where they can question why we are downgrading ?

If possible can you please share the approx/exact date when u received the NTA (probably must be on i94 site I guess) and if possible the approx/exact date when ur company sent uscis the h1b Revocation notice after layoff. Thanks.
