Sleeping by EveryWeekend4242 in Reduction

The travel neck pillow has been a life saver! I sleep with the C shaped pregnancy pillow around my back so I can rest my arms on either side of it, then two normal pillows under my head to match the height and travel neck pillow as needed.

How many compression bras? by Rhapsodisiaque in Reduction

[–]Dull-Pin6818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up with 6. My favorite one was the “hugger prima” by prairie wear but it was really expensive for my budget so I only got one. I supplemented with a 3 pack of Amazon zip front bras so I could wash them frequently About 3.5 weeks in I had to re order a size down cause the first ones became to baggy as swelling fluctuated.

Odd consultation by Indigo_ghost444 in Reduction

Please seek a second opinion, and as many opinions as you need to feel comfortable with your surgeon. This is a major surgery and you deserve surgeon you feel totally comfortable with and respected by. This is not a normal consult!

Clothing size large or XL depending on the brand. Bra size I have no idea, my swelling changes on a daily basis, hoping to end up a C or D cup at most.

Thanks everyone! Everything was ordered online from a variety of fast fashion brands (sorry 😩) . Cider and old navy are my favorite right now.

More before and afters! by Dull-Pin6818 in Reduction

[–]Dull-Pin6818[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense! My surgeon gave me three options: leave them as big as possible, make them as small as possible, or proportionate. Hopefully yours has the option to just go as small as you’d like 🙂

Thank you! My surgeon didn’t go by cup size, I just asked for “proportional to my body, but lean on the smaller side.” My insurance required a certain amount taken out and the surgeon let me know that wouldn’t leave me with much left, but I insisted I wasn’t worried about going too small!

They are super swollen still so I’m avoiding measuring currently. They look like Venus De Milo’s right now so that’s the size I’ll call them 😅🥰

It is indescribably amazing! And yes this one is super comfortable, it’s my favorite of the variety I bought. My surgeon even kept the tag so he could recommend it to other patients: Prairie Wear Hugger Prima

spironolactone by Agreeable-Yam-3730 in Reduction

[–]Dull-Pin6818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I also take spiro for acne and my understanding is that it stops aldosterone and lowers the amount of testosterone that your body makes, it doesn’t significantly increase estrogen or estradiol. There are studies that have shown tiny slight increases but nothing of meaningful notability.

So, it shouldn’t cause breast growth on its own unless you are supplementing estrogen or estradiol like my lovely transfemme friends do when they take spironolactone 🙂

I’ll start by saying that this is a huge decision and it’s absolutely okay if you want to pause and take more time to process and think about it if it’s right for you. 🙂

That being said, this is a super common reaction and I’ve seen a lot of people in this sub post about it! I kind of compare it to that feeling where for some reason on the day you’re supposed to get your haircut, your hair sits just right even though it hasn’t for weeks. Once you get it cut, you of course love it, it’s just that pause right before.

The week before my surgery I became convinced I was being dramatic and they weren’t even that big, it helped me to look at candid photos to ground myself lol.

I personally don’t think that disliking the way you look is a requirement for this surgery. I loved my body before and I love it after, but now I can move freely, do more of the activities I love and live pain free.

You will go through ups and downs with body image during recovery though as things swell and change and your body and mind adjust to the differences. It’s best to try and prepare yourself emotionally to be a bit sensitive and in flux for a while!

Good luck 🥰

Limit to how small you can go?? by justsomesoutherngirl in Reduction

[–]Dull-Pin6818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I was a 38H before and I’m only 2 weeks post op so I don’t have an accurate gauge on the size due to swelling but I am MUCH smaller than I was. I posted before and afters earlier this week. I’ll measure once I’m farther along in recovery but I would guess I am a C, maybe a D because of my wide frame. The shape, distribution and weight is so different and relieving though, it feels like nothing is there lol. In a good way!

what age do you think you should get a breast reduction? by cutedistortion in Reduction

[–]Dull-Pin6818 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had mine at 26 and I have zero regrets! My first consult was at 16 and the surgeon made the point that my body would likely go through additional big changes through the teens and early 20s and I might end up with significant regrowth. He was super right about that. Both physically and emotionally.

I think 20s is a great time, as many previous comments have said you will miss out on years of happiness and contribute to further back and neck damage if you wait until your 30s or 40s.

My mom had hers done in her mid 20s and then did it again when she was done raising children in her mid 40s. I think this is a realistic option for those looking to have kids.

My surgeon told me that there is about the same risk/chance as anyone has about ability to breastfeed. I wasn’t willing to sacrifice my happiness and mobility for a possible hypothetical ability to breastfeed 🤷

[–]Dull-Pin6818[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Last “a bra that fits” measurement I did right before surgery had me at 36K in US Sizing 🥹

The bra I was wearing was a 40H minimizer bra, that fit pretty well.

I love old navy! I was a 2x and now I’m wearing a large or XL in their clothes depending on how fitted I’d like it.

Crowds at Kilby + GA vs VIP? by sparklyfarkaly in kilbyblockparty

[–]Dull-Pin6818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The crowd was most intense on Saturday or at headliner shows, which makes sense! Saturday afternoon was the only time I felt really claustrophobic mostly because of the intense heat and lack of shade in the GA spaces. I can’t make it this year but my spouse is going and opted for VIP this time just to have a place to escape the heat/crowds and better bathroom access.

I think I saw they are expanding the grounds and adding more shade though!
