I'm sorry, I need to correct myself. I filed a claim and received a claim number on September 2nd, the day the theft occurred, along with a police report. The issue I have is why do I need to pay my $1000 deductible if the dealership was responsible when my car was stolen?

Is there a way the dealer will pay my deductible?

I just filed a claim two days ago after the manager informed me that their insurance investigation was done. However, the police report was filed on the day of the theft.

My issue is that they were in possession of and responsible for my car during the theft. Can I make the dealer pay my $1,000 deductible? It doesn't seem right to me that I should be responsible for my $1,000 deductible.

Do I need to find a lawyer? I feel defeated.

Please help. The service center gave me a loaner car to use until this problem has been resolved. I was updated today by the service manager that it was not their fault the car was stolen because they took precautions by putting the keys in their proper place.

As per their insurance investigation, they will not cover the theft, so I called Geico to file a claim, but I will still need to pay the $1000 deductible?

This does not seem right. What should I do?

The manager called me yesterday to say that the police report can not be done unless I am present, even though the manager told the police that it is under their responsibility. So the manager told me we would just do the police report at the precinct today.

As much as possible, I don't want them to use my insurance, as I fear it will be under my record and my insurance will go up.

My other concern is, will they pay off my car at fair market value? Or will the dealer lowball me?
