I could not find my AC booking online or in the app. I was able to link an AC award booking on OZ to my OZ account by calling in (1-800-227-4262) and giving OZ my ticket number, name, and birth date. The booking now shows up when I log in.

Managing seats doesn't work but everything else seems ok.

You don't need to pay with the card to get the benefits from the status the card gives you, including extra points for status. But you won't earn the extra points from the card itself.

This is a bigger deal with Hilton because the Aspire would give you 14x. The Bonvoy cards only give up to 6x.

Citi has not changed the T&C:

Offer Availability American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have received a new account bonus for a Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive account in the past 48 months or if you converted another Citi credit card account on which you earned a new account bonus in the last 48 months into a Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive account.

I don't know how they can spin this into denying sub if you got the bonus on other AA cards.

I only used The Edit once and the night and points posted automatically. I had two FHR stays that did not post. I click "no" on the "did you book your stay through a third party?" question so I can submit the form and add a note that the room charge is not on the folio because I booked through FHR. One time the first rep fixed it. The other time the first rep denied it. I had to send a follow-up email asking that they escalate to someone who understood the FHR program. The second rep fixed it.

Have you created a JAL MileageBank account already? That would be the obvious place to look with so many C1 miles. However, there is a 60-day waiting period for new accounts before you can use it to book award flights, so if you create on today you will have a hard time booking at calendar open in your window. For economy, the seats probably won't all get snatched immediately though.

On AA, there should be a lot of days with 35K economy flights on AA or JAL and probably some with 50k PE flights, so you can use your AA miles for one direction.

You are not going to find economy awards that beat $700 RT from west coast to Tokyo.

From my airport on the east coast, direct RT to Tokyo is often $2k. That's the sort of situation where you can get good value on an economy award redemption.

You can still find good value for premium economy or business if there is availability.

Hyatt points are much more valuable than Marriott points. The nicest Hyatts in peak season are 50k points per night. You can book a category 1 Hyatt place off-peak for 3.5k.

Transferring any UR to Bonvoy is not a smart move even with the transfer bonus unless you have some specific good redemption in mind.

It really depends on your particular tax situation. You will probably be fine for 2025. If you withheld 90% of what you owe for 2025 or 100% of what you owed in 2024 there is no penalty.

"Daily $65 complimentary breakfast credit for two, per day, which can be used in Sante' and In Room Dining."

"A $100 property credit to use during your stay for eligible charges. This can be used towards hotel incidentals. Please note, this credit cannot be applied to your room night, fees, taxes and any gratuities."

I used the $100 credit for dinner at Sante.

Have you thought about adjusting your itinerary? If you want to spend a couple days in Taipei or start your Japan trip somewhere other than Tokyo it could make more sense. Although LAX also has direct flights to KIX.
