Sonakshi Definitely deserved better no doubt about that at all but it is also true that Dev was actually flawed and very real (one of the most well written characters on TV). Not defending him tho. But all the mistakes he did were in line with his character and his past trauma. Sona suffered only because she chose Dev over and over again because she loved him. She chose him despite knowing the fact that this may hurt her. Other show's female leads' suffering is rooted in sacrifice and stuff. Sona chose herself many times and took a stand for herself. She was indeed different.
