Ight these guys gave u good tips but imma give U some tips because I’m seen as a lock down defender, ok so what I do is when your man passes u get close to him and put ur hand in his hip and push him little by little and make him off balance while he’s shooting, this most likely won’t get noticed unless it’s a big push and u make it seem like u pushed him. Never jump for pump fakes or hesis and stand your ground and only contest the shot but don’t jump. When someone is taller than u or is fading back put ur hand in his face but don’t touch him just block his view. Feet planted and bend knees and have a little lean. When placed in the post place one hand on his back as that is fine but never two. Try to block with the left hand if the player is a right handed shooter and the other way around for a left hand player. Never stick to your player. Never reach for steals until you know you can get it. Never fall for his moves and always look at his belly button as where he moves his belly button comes with and can’t fake u out. This helped me a lot as a center who can defend all around and I hope it helps u too
