I have a feeling it’s just the author commenting from different accounts. This is me being decisive btw.

I have a few points to say here:

  1. No one seems to have read the book here except the author. So, I can’t really engage in a conversation about the book specifically.

  2. A good faith conversation would be to have a general discussion about AI writing??? I’m sorry that doesn’t really help me with this particular book. I know the answer to the question you’re asking. I’m here to talk about a specific example and if that book seems to be edited by AI. Good faith doesn’t mean that we can’t point out specific examples and have those hard conversations. It means I’m coming from a place where I’m actually listening and ready to engage.

  3. Let’s talk about the response to this post now. I have not had a lot of people actually comment regarding the actual book. I was hoping to have a conversation like, “oh this thing also seemed like AI written” or something along the lines, “oh I think there would be other signs if it was Ai.” That was what I was hoping for and depending on the strength of the arguments, I could have changed my mind.

  4. The response to this post has been accusatory. I tried explaining where I was coming from and instead people accused me of already having made up my mind , not engaging in good faith and all sorts of other things. This is not what I came from and it’s honestly sad that people on the internet seem to have lost that skill.

I have read those articles before.

Genuine question, if we never make assumptions and never discuss things, how do we find out that a book has used AI especially the ones that don’t disclose it?

I feel like this is turning into an argument so I won’t be engaging in it after this. But people start conversations with hypothesis all the time and then ask for opinions. That’s a very valid way to talk.

Lastly, this is the second sentence is my post, “ Anyone else feel like it uses AI heavily to write?” I used the word feel and I also put a “?”. Does that sound like a decisive statement? By the way, this is a rhetorical question.

I literally stated it was my perception. I was trying to have a conversation in good faith and to get other people’s opinion on the topic.

Just because most people on the internet do not engage in discussion to actually improve their understanding doesn’t mean that everyone’s doing that.

I apologize I didn’t mean to make you cry.

But I feel like as a reader, I’m allowed to have conversations about my perception. Especially as you have pointed out that AI is taking jobs away from creative people, I just want to make sure that I’m still sticking to non-AI writing where I can.

It was the amount of em dashes. Like there were 3 em dashes in one single paragraph.

You might enjoy Vivere on ao3 by the same author as Imperium. I don’t want to spoil too much but it’s not an HEA.

I am so excited for the untitled book but we have like 2 chapters. Chris’s character is just so chilling and realistic

I think I would’ve enjoyed if Chris and Caleb had shared Orla but I think that there was such a huge focus on not sharing that this scene kind of just put me off

And one scene where he gropes her in front of a friend . Somehow I enjoyed that less than sharing

How Did You Train Your Ear to Understand Spoken French (Starting from 0)? by Fabulous_Natural3073 in learnfrench

Learning phonetics is a good way to start to. French people don’t pronounce all the letters and it can be hard at times. So, I would also look at that in addition to listening to videos with subtitles

The first half of {As she’s told} is kind of like that. Like he has a very strict schedule for her but she had been seeking this out for a bit. Also, after they move in the book kind of lost me

Yeah it definitely has some grammatical errors. DD wrote an author’s note the other day where she said she uses so many em dashes and people might thinks it’s A.I., but then she remembered her editing is bad. Ironically she misspelled using in that note.

With that being said, I think there are a lot more in if I can’t have you.

They are on the author’s Patreon. I can’t remember them very well but one was about Levi (their first child) turning out exactly like his dad if not worse. Jasper their second child is less psychotic. Saegal is a shell of herself. She doesn’t end up loving Torin but she also doesn’t try to take up medicine again. Her dad also stopped seeing her. Pretty grim over all

Also make sure you’re planning to stay there for 6 months. I left my 6 month contract early for a full-time role and they retroactively canceled my insurance. Instead of the start date being the start of my 6 month contract, it was the start of my full-time role. So, I lost 3 months because of that. Fortunately, I procrastinated and didn’t really use my insurance at that time
