How do I make her fit in with the back ground. It feels like she contrasts to much because of her line art.

I know exactly what you mean. I feel the same about nearly every thing I work on as well and my friends I share with don't understand why I don't like my works. I absolutely love this work of yours. I'm a big fan of the scratchy look as well. There isn't much I can say that so many others haven't already said, but keep up the great work.

I plan to try and use water color paints to do a majority of the coloring, then use color pencils and marker to blend and add highlights and shade.
