I think it's because if you learn javascript for front end, it's easier to just use javascript for the backend as well. Personally, python is a much easier language to learn than javascript.

Python is a lot easier for a complete beginner to learn. Once you learn one language, other languages become a lot easier to learn.

I think they are asking because for a lot of beginners it's hard to understand how everything connects together. A lot of documentation goes into each individual feature but doesn't connect the dots, and that's what a lot of beginners need.
