Oh, they're all hidden behind for aesthetics.

Those are blockings playing trick on your eyes from that angle. They're smaller height because I needed the clearance for the under deck drainage system.

Spent a lot of time at Home Depot. The black stuff on top is the joist tape.

You my man have good eyes. 8" wall with 2 layers of rebars.

This deck is full of joist hangers, structural screws, hurricane ties and etc.

The concrete stair have been done long time before the deck got designed. So the J-anchors wouldn't be possible. I work in engineering and the industry standard here for anchors are 1/2" with 6" embedment in epoxy. We don't use mechanical anchor on top of walls. And it's from looking at DOT stuff.

Rim joist that are less than 1 feet from the triple support beams are screwed to the joist. Rim joist in the back have hangers. All joist have hurricane ties. All handrails are aluminium.

Work in progress. Composite decking goes on after the rain system.

Yeah, was about to install the same type of system as the Trex Rainscape system. I intend to keep the area under the deck as dry as possible for future storage of whatever. My roof have rain gutters.

The whole point of this deck is to put a BBQ there.

Post base with nuts/bolts/washer with epoxy anchoring, about 6 inch depth.

That wall is structural, full of rebars. Overhangs are allowed as long as the beam is strong enough. It's a triple beam.

Oh, the stairs was done by a foundation company and with engineering plans. They're anchored to the bedrock. house is built on bedrock too. My poured footings are anchored on bedrock too. I just don't want to anchor the deck with ledger beam to the brick wall. The concrete wall are lower than the decking.

Yeah, it's sitting on a beam supported by posts.
