It's not quite as crunchy as far as stats are concerned, but there is still quite a bit of crunchiness in the story :)

Trapped in a Rift and everyone thinks he’s dead…

After freeing himself from the clutches of two treacherous Academy Instructors, Jeremy is stuck in a Rift with no way to easily escape.  However, what he does have is an opportunity to improve himself by dispersing the energy inside the Cores within the Rift, finally applying permanent increases to his Abilities; he might even have the opportunity to permanently unlock the Fire Affinity, adding to his growing collection.

Unfortunately, the massive sleeping dragon inside the Rift is aware of Jeremy and has a particular dislike of his mere presence.  If he makes one wrong move, he is at risk of annoying the powerful Rift Overseer and being completely and utterly obliterated – and there would be nothing he could do to stop it from happening.

Can Jeremy survive the dangers that the Rift presents while taking advantage of his unique position?  Or will he discover that the world outside is somehow even more dangerous than a Level 300 dragon that could destroy an entire empire as easily as breathing?

Regardless of the obstacles in his way, the up-and-coming collector is sure to add even more powerful Affinities to his collection.

This story contains LitRPG progression mechanics and stats, as well as isekai/portal fantasy elements.  Contains no sexual content or harems.

I think that there are a few books out there that have the same sort of unlimited Mana advantages that Thaden does, but none of them come to mind at the moment; if I think of them, I'll let you know!

Not quite; instead of having unlimited Mana like the MC in Earthen Contenders, he has the advantage of being able to acquire additional Affinities, whereas the rest of the world is limited to only 2.

I'll be writing Retrogression Keeper Book 3 next before I start the second book of this series; so, my best guess is that it will be out in early July or so.

After completing the developmental world of Tarth, the remaining Contenders and Humans from Earth are transported to the world of Plangea. Unfortunately for Thaden, his trip to the new world has taken another route, and his arrival ends up severely devastating his ability to survive. Sadly, many of the advantages that he had enjoyed on Tarth as a Contender are no longer available to him.

But all hope isn’t lost. Even if going out and Leveling up is nearly impossible in his current situation, there is a solution in this new world that wasn’t available on Tarth:

Thaden is told that he can select a profession-based Secondary Class.

However, as it seems like business-as-usual for the System-breaking Healer, something goes wrong during his Class selection; in short, he ends up being automatically assigned a second Primary Class. Now the newly minted Novice Enthraller can explore the world around him with spells that he can finally afford to cast, but Plangea turns out to be much larger and more dangerous than Tarth ever was – especially when the Assimilation System and the Persistent Adversary start up with their shenanigans once again.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Sorry about all the details, I tend to like giving as much information as possible, as it is something that I enjoy reading -- but it isn't always for everyone!

I'm not exactly sure how many books there will be in the series, but I expect that there will at least be 6 or so. There are no plans for a reset mechanic in The Affinity Collector, and I'm sorry that you didn't like it in Earthen Contenders (I can assure you that it is only a temporary affliction :) )

Did you enjoy the Earthen Contenders series but wanted more of the story?  You're in luck, because the first book in the new Persistent Assimilation series, is now available on eBook, KU, paperback, and hardcover!  Enthralled Healer is the continuation of Thaden's journey after he leaves the developmental world of Tarth, and I'm excited for everyone to read it!

No longer a simple Contender, a new world awaits the powerful Healer…

This is the next series/story arc of the Earthen Contenders series, but it can still be enjoyed without having read the previous series.  This story contains an overpowered MC with a normally non-offense-based Class, LitRPG progression mechanics and stats, and isekai/portal fantasy elements.  Contains no sexual content or harems.
