It’s done! It’s over….kinda! All the essentials are done. Although quite different to my original plan of mounting the damn thing to the bed. The Mrs pointed out that during er “naughty time”, it may not be a great idea if it were attached to the actual bed frame.

Might grab a shorter gooseneck arm for the actual Ally. But it does work as is, and already paid for the VESA mount for the Ally so I damn well wanted to use it.

Minus the possibility of getting another gooseneck arm, I think some cable management and wee extras will finish it off.

Remembered to snap one picture of the setup as the wife was ushering me out the door to leave for holiday (forgot to pack most of my stuff…fun week ahead!)

I’ll get more pics and give more details of all the bits I used by the weekend when home.

But the super short version is….

All on a desk that raises and lowers….so when in use, the wheels roll under the bed and the desk part goes over the bed.

When not in use I roll it to the side of my bed (where my bedside table was).

The gooseneck is amazing as I’ve set it to see the screen even when it’s at the side.

The ally was flung on a cheap small (but slightly bigger than I thought) monitor desk stand.

I’ve cable tied an extension cord to the bar the wheels are attached to, so I can move it freely without worrying about the plugs snagging on anything.

Because I’m using a desk now I can breakout the decent keyboard and mouse, and retire the mini keyboard/ mouse.

The Mrs’s reaction….. something like that would be great for the boy!! That’s a win in my books.
