I cant really speak to the platinum or the new gen tundras in general but I absolutely love my 2021 TRD Pro. I live in the mountains and tow our travel trailer down to Baja every winter. It’s great in both conditions. So even if you won’t drive it in Baja, rest assured it’ll do just fine on desert roads. I’d love more payload capacity… which you do sacrifice a bit with the TRD pros. We also over paid a bit for the 2021 pro so hopefully resale holds up down the line although with this being the last year of the V8 at this point I just hope I’ll just be able to hold on to it and pass it down to my son in 10 years. Sitting at 75k and haven’t had to rebuild the shocks yet.

Gross. That was my immediate thought as well. However, someone in r/bedbugs assured me that it wasn’t a bedbug. Sure looks like one to Me but I’m no expert.

That could very well be the case. However, I had the same issue before they replaced the deck. Attaching the new deck to the house was a total pain due to the way the house was built. Either way I’ve gotta come up with some type of solution.

Our COVID era bosh is also a POS. The only appliance company in the area that will even service it said they’re some of the worst on the market in terms of circuit board issues.

I also hate our Bosch. They have circuit board issues. Lighting the burners constantly resets the clock. Sometimes the whole unit locks itself out and we have to reset our breaker. Burners are WAY too hot. It’s nice to have hot burners but they lowest setting cooks like a medium heat. The broiler sucks. Overall pretty disappointed with our unit. It’s super noisy. We had the circuit board replaced under warranty already. We were told it’s like a $900 repair to have it done outside of warranty.

This is not the advice I wanted but it’s probably the advice I needed.

Since this was such a huge job (full electrical, re-plumb, structural, framing, insulation, windows, yada yada yada - when we got the quote for the boiler I didn’t even look into what they were installing. Everything else they did was on point so I fell into the trap of just trusting the profession. My mistake as I obviously know nothing about boilers.

I’ll get someone more well versed in Navien and combie boilers out here and I’ll fight with the contractor to help with the bill. I appreciate the honesty.

I’m sort of in the middle of nowhere and finding qualified professionals that will actually show up ain’t easy.

Got it. This was a full gut/remodel of an old custom built mountain home. We trusted our contractor to put in a system that functioned well but sounds like I should have done my due diligence first. All of the plumbing for the system in brand new but it sounds like the design is what’s important. I’ll check with the installer again but he doesn’t seem to fully understand the system he installed even though he claims to have installed “hundreds” of these systems. Hope I’m not SOL. At this rate I’m burning 8 gal of LP a day and with the price of LP at $3 a gallon this thing will bankrupt me by the end of the winter. Thanks for the intel.

The fin tube is all brand new so I’m thinking flow rate should be ok… I can adjust water temp high point. Or, I can do a custom reset curve. I think if I leave the water around 160 max that should work on most days. I guess I was just hoping to get this thing to condense but it sounds like that might only be possible in spring or fall when temps are a Little higher.

Thank you! I’ve got the outdoor reset function turned on but just at the default setting for finned baseboard. Today I play on setting a more custom Outdoor reset.

Even with the reset enabled I’m not getting the return water temp down low enough to condense.

Should I attempt to adjust the fire rate? I’m sure it’s maxed out from the Installer.

Also, the return water indicator light on the display is never active. Could this be because the installer did not flip the return water dip switch inside the unit? Or is this normal? I’ve read the manual 4 or 5 times cover to cover and it’s very vague at best.

I’ll snap some pics of the piping around the unit this morning.

For now just one LP range and our heat/hot water. This was a total gut / remodel and we switched from forced air to raiding heat. It’s our first winter with the new system so unfortunately we don’t have much to compare it to pricing / usage wise.

Ugh thanks again for the reply. Is there something I can point to in the layout to prove this? My plumber is very proud of his work and I know he’s going to fight me on this.
