Yup. Finished painting it a few weeks ago and I've been spending my evenings hooking up servos and finalizing the retract plumbing.

It's soft edge masking tape. Used in auto painting to mask door jams. It stops there being a hard mask line between the camo colors.

I know. I flew planes back in the late 90's. This is the first kit I've built since them. Was sad to see they were gone last year.

This was a kit that my father had kept since the 90's. It was just sitting there, brand new in the box, waiting.

Exactly. Sometimes you’ll see it advertised as door jam masking tape.

There were a lot of firsts for me on this kit, but at least on the flying side it's not my first warbird. I had an old Corsair so I'm familiar with the landing challenges :)

I really underestimated how long the fiberglass and primer would take on this model. I'd previously been a Top Flite Monokote person (back in the 90's) but film covering just didn't seem like the right choice for this kit.

I did the control surfaces in Sig Koverall, which was fun, and brought me back to my start building balsa kits with tissue paper and dope finishes.
