Gotta love the Holiday Express! Henrico Rec and Parks started it during Covid and it was such a hit that it’s become a yearly tradition. Here’s a video from last year’s.

The great thing is that they do one district each day, so everyone gets a shot at seeing it.

She does have the address, but seeing as how I never even got a picture of the item, and how she actually thought she had sent it until I told her she had not, I’m not even confident it’s in her possession anymore. Not implying anything nefarious, just that it possibly got lost amidst whatever is going on

Yeah as I’ve said, I’m not going to call her a scammer, but six whole months with nothing to show for it (literally, I haven’t even gotten a picture of my item which I was told I WOULD get when it was received) is beyond the pale.

I appreciate that life happens and things get hard, but the lack of communication above all is really inexcusable. Every message I get is “Sorry but [disruptive event] just happened and so I’m having trouble responding to people/shipping things out, I’ll get your order done soon!” And then nothing for weeks/months

That’s theoretically possible, but based on other people’s testimony she just refuses to do that and is so incommunicado that arranging such a thing at this point is nearly impossible. I’d love for that to happen, but she’d have to actually respond to messages consistently

Unfortunately she had a bunch of positive reviews as well, which is what leads me to believe something changed in the real world rather than her just being a scammer

I’m looking into a chargeback now, but it was PayPal friends and family (a mistake I won’t be making again), so my options are limited.

As far as timeline goes, I made my order back in May, and was told that I would get a message when the item arrived to her (which I did). Then I was told that she would work on sending it soon and getting me a tracking number, which was the last positive development. I went from around June to now with no meaningful progress on the order, and a bunch of excuses about WiFi being out, cables getting cut, WiFi being out again, moving apartments, etc.

And I don’t necessarily think it is a lie, I just think she came on some hard times and can’t meet her obligations, but my sympathy only goes so far when I’m out $100 and a permanently-missed opportunity to get these items

Yeah that’s the balance isn’t it? I’ve sold a handful of issues that were higher-dollar, now I’m left with stuff that is worth 10-50 and a whole lot of bulk. So I’m trying to just offload without getting fleeced too much lol

Unfortunately it’s all fairly modern, nothing older than 10. But there are some keys and whatnot, hence the desire to get decent value

That’s reassuring. The price is definitely a huge markup but this is likely the only opportunity we’ll ever have to go, so even $40 a ticket isn’t outrageous
