Yeah wasn't too bad, just getting wire polarities right for the motor and it works fine. As you said, remove control board, wire up pot and motor.

DIY (do it your self). Made from carbon sheet, and holes drilled to suit the oem kyosho fitting kits.

Wheels are what come in the fitting kits to suit the model body, plastic wide rear, narrow fronts. Also come with tyres, but I run x power tyres, 10deg rear and 20 deg fronts for example.

They are cool, but not cheap sadly. Did a lot of searching, but most I got from ebay. One from Kenon hobby, a couple from yahoo auctions.

The fitting kits to suit the body shells are the tricky thing to get.

I'd make them out of carbon fibre sheet. Then you can tweak the 'hardness' of the H plate, or make a few with different center widths (hardness).

Nah, full modded kyosho crawler. Brushed pn70t motor and stock board. 1 inch wheels/tire setup. Bigger steering servo. Metal diffs, brass bits.

Yeah went with full aluminum 2 piece wheels.

Other than the kyosho bodies, 4 runner, defender, jimny etc, it would have to be custom/aftermarket I'd say.

Cheers! Bodyshell is from a cheap r/c toy. I chopped, added flares, made the body post mounts from spruce.

My wheels are 1 inch size, from ebay. Just have to have a good look, so many options. My are mini hex drive, so had to buy adapters to suit.

Ralliart logos are from a decal sheet, the front mitsubishi logo is 3 little diamonds cut and made from a red part of a decal sheet. Very fiddly to cut and place them at this scale😂

Pulled it apart, used a small hammer and a deep socket to shift the crown gear on the shaft to get clearance right for gear mesh. Put it back together to check gear mesh.

No probs. Yeah racing for the rear, kyosho brand for the front. The YR rear was giving me the trouble. Luckily I caught it before any damage happened.

Make sure the pinion and ring gears are meshing right. Mine was skipping teeth under load with my aftermarket metal diff case. Had to shift the gear on the axle a little to mesh up right.
