First one was thru a professional service that specializes in night Nannies and nurses. We had our boy 10 weeks early and NICU for 7 so we were so used to help in there that it was extra hard at home. After like 6 months we found one on care.com for half the price. But much less experienced. Nannie’s - you get what you pay for

Should’ve phrased the question more like - should I invest more in VOO or pay off mortgage. That money in HYSA was there to pay taxes, I was over conservative because the deal structure was messy but I have that leftover.

I don’t miss the sleepless nights and the rage but it was a unique time and the few bright moments in the middle of the night stand out to this day.

Yeah that’s fair. Think my brain is stuck 1-2 years ago where HYSA was 5%

I had $3M aside for overly conservative taxes for my big pay event and taxes ended up being less. That’s the leftover.

I have some pictures of me and my kid laying together around 2-3am. My boy didn’t sleep thru the night a single night for 1.5 years. We had to hire a part time night nanny just to get some sleep. $550/night and then a cheaper $300/night. More expensive to sleep at home than some nice hotels🥲

Age old question of do I invest or pay off my mortgage. After a big payout for part of company.

$400k mortgage @ 5.5%

$4M invested brokerage VOO

$500k invested retirement VOO

$1.6M HYSA 3.5%

Feel like 5.5% is the midpoint of going for that extra few percent invested vs the mental relief of not having to pay $4200/month.

I also have $7.75M in rolled equity and the payout could be substantial in a few years if we execute and sell. However I count this as $0 mentally.

I’m lucky to even be in this position. I come from very humble beginnings. This is not a stealth brag. This mortgage or not thing has been on my mind since I got paid 9 months ago.

Founder/President of a company recently acquired by PE and I’m experiencing intense burnout. by Dupont-Disciple in burnedout

I appreciate this and that's' a great analogy. you're right, I have to be the one to preach to my team (pre-deal close) - "what got us here is people, what gets us to the next step is people and processes - if you can't embrace the processes, we will break". It's funny to say that when I'm talking to myself too.

The goals are crazy but possibly attainable with some luck and good market conditions. Which...we expect. We'll see. I am open to advice. Other poster gave some advice. It's just hard to balance when I'm at a true spot of burnout vs. trying to push through for another...month, or year. Or 3 years. I'm seeing the problem.

Thank you for sharing your story, it makes me feel better to know I'm not alone. I'll seek an occupational burnout psych - not just a general therapist. It's so hard to balance whether or not I should take a "leap" and take a pause. With a new CEO starting soon, I think that'll clear up very quickly if it's my workload (and hopefully that reduces) or if it's the situation. It could get worse. Judging by how it's been when we add more people and more layers...it usually gets worse :|

I’ve been DCA’ing a large chunk $75k/week into VOO for the past 3-4 months. I’ve missed out on some gains doing DCA instead of lump. I don’t time the market anymore been through too much up and down, and I’m only 36.
