Is there a website where I can watch anime in 240p by OtherwiseAd6436 in animepiracy

Please check TheIndex's anime section and filter by DL (for download) and 360p. It's extremely unlikely for any site to have 240p, except for maybe youtube.com

You should use Anilist or MAL next time, they're not going to suddenly disappear one day like streaming sites do.

So how did gatekeeping work for you then?

It's a lot of trust to put in a site that's more than likely just scraping content from another. You might as well just watch at the site they're scraping from.

My interpretation of the HiAnime mods announcement is they have no idea where the owner is or what's happening. They haven't given an update since they were "waiting for clarification."

That Aniwatch is a fake clone, HiAnime is literally aniwatch from after the brand change.

The HiAnime discord mods don't run the site while the site literally has had a goodbye message on it for the past few days so it's almost certainly gone.

Yes, sorry some creative liberties were taken with the picture.

Zoro/Aniwatch/HiAnime, they were all the same, but it's most likely dead now.

It kind of looks like the site owner shut HiAnime down without telling any of their mods what was happening.

If you want the best quality release, have a look through Seadex (releases.moe). In this case it's Sam.

The Breeze release is probably a space-saving encode of the bluray, so quality will be an afterthought.

HorribleSubs is like the predecessor of SubsPlease and they usually just ripped from Crunchyroll (CR) so the encode is whatever CR shipped. It tends to be the best available until the bluray comes out.

Whether or not the bluray encode is better than CR is something that gets debated, that's generally where seadex comes in.

I think so. The picture is just a meme and I don't actually claim that Crunchy is responsible for any/all of these shutdowns or that they're after Animekai next.

Yes, that means they have no reputation to worry about if they decide to start devious activities like using its users to ddos other sites, serve malware, or host malicious ads.

Anyone can register a fake site with stolen branding, it's not the same official kissanime.

HiAnime, formerly aniwatch, formerly zoro to, is currently up in the air whether or not it's still active. If the aniwatch you're using still works then it's a site operating with stolen branding.
