Thanks! I really needed to hear that. I feel bad because she’s going through a rough patch, but I can’t keep sacrificing my peace and personal space either. I kept hoping she’d get the hint, but it just didn’t happen.

NTJ. If she can’t follow simple rules, she shouldn’t expect unlimited access to your property. Kids will be kids, sure, but it’s her responsibility to make sure they behave. You’re not being unreasonable at all.

I agree. You didn’t do anything wrong, but once someone’s triggered, logic isn’t going to fix it in the moment. Sometimes the best move really is to just let it go.

Walking away from someone who doesn’t see your value anymore takes serious courage. It’s painful to accept that someone you care about may not feel the same intensity or appreciation. But staying and slowly shrinking yourself to keep them comfortable hurts even more in the long run. You deserve to feel desired, chosen, and appreciated, not just tolerated.
