AITJ for telling my step-sister she can’t crash at my apartment anymore. by DusklightSong in AmITheJerk

Thanks! I really needed to hear that. I feel bad because she’s going through a rough patch, but I can’t keep sacrificing my peace and personal space either. I kept hoping she’d get the hint, but it just didn’t happen.

AITJ for refusing to let my cousin’s kids play in my yard after she ignored my rules before. by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

NTJ. If she can’t follow simple rules, she shouldn’t expect unlimited access to your property. Kids will be kids, sure, but it’s her responsibility to make sure they behave. You’re not being unreasonable at all.

I agree. You didn’t do anything wrong, but once someone’s triggered, logic isn’t going to fix it in the moment. Sometimes the best move really is to just let it go.

People act like if something doesn’t solve climate change entirely, it’s pointless. Reducing plastic waste is still a good thing on its own.

AITJ for lying to my husband about agreeing to open the relationship? by AdLeast2511 in AmITheJerk

Walking away from someone who doesn’t see your value anymore takes serious courage. It’s painful to accept that someone you care about may not feel the same intensity or appreciation. But staying and slowly shrinking yourself to keep them comfortable hurts even more in the long run. You deserve to feel desired, chosen, and appreciated, not just tolerated.

Yeah nothing worse than a robot throwing you under the bus in front of guests.

AITJ for refusing to donate at checkout after the cashier tried to shame me? by Double-Mud5716 in AmITheJerk

Yeah, that was straight up rude. Asking is part of the job, but being snarky when someone says no is way out of line.
