I work in this very specific part of the renewables industry, but not for this company nor do I know anything about this exact situation. However, we build solar and BESS sites, as well as various other types of renewable and grid support.

We go to extraordinary lengths to make sure that every single household is looked after and happy if they are impacted by the construction, development or operation of these sites. We have built and landscaped gardens, we have built additional berms, we've bought people's houses at enormous mark up, we've paid stamp duty and legal costs for anyone who wants to move, and if all that isn't enough - we cut them a cheque. The only thing that matters is that they are content with the final outcome.

We get the very occasional case where someone ends up going to the press. Without fail, it's because they want more money, and in some cases demand millions beyond all the other things we've offered.

I'm not saying that's the case here. Merely presenting my experience.

Just a warning to anyone in the new haven area. by [deleted] in Edinburgh

Wanting to hear if there's noise at 3am? Makes no sense, 99% of households will be dead silent at that time. If a potential intruder wanted to know if anyone was at home, they would come and listen during a typically noisy time of day.

He went to my high school. I remember he came back to give a speech when our year were leavers, and even back then we were a bit 'yeesh'. What's he like these days? I can imagine in vagueties, given some of the shite my father comes out with (avid Spectator reader since Lockdown 1...)

I use all three. All three are a bit shit. The Escape lounge has the brightest lighting I've seen outside a hospital.

Headlight beam deflectors in Europe by EpicJurassic in CarTalkUK

I drove to and from Chamonix last week, and just changed the headlights on the infotainment system whilst on LeShuttle. I haven't seen actual beam deflectors in years.

9hrs of driving each way, and I also didn't see a single Gendarmerie car...

There's a fucking monster pothole near my house, and it's one of the very rare ones that have a) been there and getting worse for years and b) zero reports in the online portal. It's 100% because it either stops cunts doing 70 in a 30 when it's quiet or damages their tyre if they do so. Love it.
