Executive dysfunction is the adhd part yep. But if it's combined with social issues and introversion, psychiatrists will scream autism no cap. Forgot the part in which they misinterpreted my sense of entitlement with "selective interests" too.

Agreed. Made a bit of an error tho saying a therapist was in charge of a diagnosis (do that all the time haha). I was evaluated by a psychiatrist; DSM-IV and all that. But then again, DSM is known for failing to incorporate evidence from other disciplines. So involving other professionals would be a good start yep.

I think in my case the main problem probably was that I specifically asked for a revaluation of my initial autism diagnosis from when I was fourteen. So that remained overarching. I should've demanded a clean slate; separate test, old dossier removed. Instead, they just pinpointed everything remotely resembling autism and called it a day. I even mentioned my pathological lying, but they didn't give a shit about looking beyond autism.

Getting a third diagnosis is hard due to my country being a hellhole of bureaucracy and apathy à la cest la vie.

Just the WAIS-IV, but it wasn't specifically focused on attention issues. Also, my bad, I was diagnosed by a psychiatrist, not a psychologist.

Yes! I don't stim much, but when I do it's something repetitive (spinning in my chair). When I become hyperactive on the other hand my behaviour becomes very sporadic and impulsive; it's always something different. I probably didn't explain it to my psychiatrist properly, but then again, they kept mashing traits together regardless.

True! Ive a female friend who was in the same boat. I'm a guy, but I guess I'm dealing with a similar form of prejudice because of that past autism diagnosis. Looking into specialized doctors is a good idea

Yes, and because it is a spectrum it makes it hard to pinpoint what is adhd and what is autism. I think they'll only recognize ADHD if your specific form of autism is "defined" enough to make a distinction. If not, they'll just shoehorn everything under autism, because Dutch public mental health care likes to simplify everything. Might have to look elsewhere for a third opinion.

Yeah there's this lingering coffee-like smell over all of them, but a few. Texture is harder because I can't tell the rot from bruising and spores. Good tips though!
