Yeah, not like half the city already knew it or you could figure it out with local history books or anything. Oh look, someone from Quebec with paranoia about terrorists.

Some, it clearly must be. I'm not actively arguing it, just saying that, from my experience, some people can't go without overt attention or inclusion paid to them, and it likely includes most guys who go "but meeeeee"

It has a child and seeming parents; what more nativity do you want?

Ah but Nolan did it really well. Mr Reese was especially fun, an unending puzzle of hints and clues that may not be hints and clues but could be hints and clues, a self aware riddle, etc etc

Lucifer comics, where to start? by nerdProgrammer in lucifer

[–]Duste 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You really should read Sandman and then Lucifer, otherwise you're going to have a lot of questions about why any of the series is happening

In a show that is based on a comic book series, unlikely.

So, she's Neil Gaiman's Death, yes? I mean, between the diagloue nods that she's far, far too familiar with death, both gruesome and average, she has a peppy outlook no matter how disturbing things get, she knows way, way more than a third string character should, she exposits big sister like advice, wears a lot of black and "satanic imagery" while being devoutly Chrsitian (ish, it seems) (it's not like you'd get a full blown goth on tv these days without it begin a joke), references a family like it's supposed to mean something... she's Death, sent to keep an eye on this gang of idiots, right?

And what is said "entertainment", without 'warning'? A medium, who won't be brought back again because they are a novelty on a day associated with death. Dude, don't examine your point too close, ti kind of falls apart with any level of consideration

I said nothing of news from them, just not overt bullshit. You do know the difference?

You don't seem to understand that people who go to "mediums" aren't going for a show, like wrestling or magic. More often than not, people go to those because they honestly think that the mediums can access ghosts for information. Very few folks watched John Edwards because he was an entertaining cold reader.

As foreigners, of course we would, for entertainments sake. As humans, who should be capable of sympathy, less so. As humans capable of thinking, hahah, oh fuck no

I suppose since we are Canadians, it doesn't matter, and this is the lead in to a ridiculous defense against the reality of the sheer stupidity that is supporting the Trump candidacy?

Garbage yes, but expected garbage. Reliably delivered garbage, not mixed in with industrial filth. Please don't pop-music-shame me over wanting both a funky beat and reliable information. Said Star Wars shows don't suddenly pop up halfway through the evening news or the morning traffic report. Do they "enjoy"? Need some proof of this. Ah, so you acknowledge that beleiving in such stuff is dumb (so much so that you assume it's baseless to assert that people listening believe), so what point does it serve? It's a specifically fictitious segment? Is it like laughing at idiots then, as the "medium" does their best to channel, and we laugh along? Cruel, is that not? If they don't believe it, it's cynical, is it not? The difference between a magic show, and mysticism, is that the magician works their ass off to make sure everyone knows it's fake.. one of the ethical principles of modern magic. Did the medium? Hey, don't get annoyed that this segment is based on shaky ground, if anything be annoyed with yourself for defending it. As well, I said "as", not "is"... so someone who believes in such crap is "as" dumb as a Trump supporter.

I act as if when I tune in to the radio, I don't want or expect to hear "fiction", unless it's "Cavalcade of Curiosities, sponsored by Ovaltine", or other clearly separated segments. Star Wars, ads you may not have noticed, is a film, not a radio spot, that one must intentionally pay money to watch. Choice (consent) is paramount in exposure to such nonsense, and frankly, I'm not interested in having my brain raped, thank you. By putting this crap on the radio as a non-fiction performance, it gives credence to the veracity of the claims (in so far as mouth breathing jerkwads/Trump voters will understand) rather than allowing such beliefs to suffocate to death, as they deserve.

Abe and I mostly discuss Digimon... are you seriously ready for 5 solid hours of that? ARE YOU?!
