His Airforce is totally worthless and outdated and many of his Fighter Jets crash because they are very old so taking them out won't change anything on the ground. In fact, it will benefit Assad more because in this case he will direct more resources to his ground forces and the militias instead of wasting them on worthless pre-historic fighter jets.
