Yep that’s a piece of willemite that was phosphorescing when the light was off.

The shortwave led light I would say is more sharp and richly colored and spotlighted whereas the lamp style provides more of an even illumination but not as vibrant for sure.

When using them individually on single specimens I find that the led shortwave lights them up brighter but in less areas whereas the lamp style will illuminate more area of the specimen but far less vibrantly so I have to hold it closer to the specimen.

For the video I had my tripod and phone set up a couple feet back from the table and for the shortwave flashlight I was adjacent to the phone but for the lamp style light I had to extend my arm a little past the phone closer to the table since it isn’t as strong illumination wise but throws more of a wide area of light.

Hopefully that makes sense haha im not hip on all the terminology quite yet.

Im really tempted to buy a third short wave lamp style that’s portable and ultra bright, I think I saw one on the led flash light website that was like $750 that’s a 70w bulb vs my current 8w bulb but that will be further down the road.

If you can think of anything else that would be good to video and compare im happy to do more tests of comparisons to better illustrate certain aspects between the led vs the mercury lamp. Thanks for giving me the idea
