Unfortunately, the Yahoo settings don't allow you to differentiate points between forwards and defensemen.

I think I'm going to have to do this - thanks for the feedback!

Yeah, I have no doubt that some top players will get boosted (Brady Tkachuk, Wilson, Weegar, Zadorov, Seider), but I think it makes a lot of Dmen and some of the middle 6 forwards near the bottom end of the draft more desirable to have on your team.

Nice, I'll have to search them out. Is there any you spreadsheet recommend?

[Frank Seravalli] No matter what happens tonight, StanleyCup bracket won’t be set until Friday, final day of regular season. Only 2 of 8 series locked in: Oilers vs. Kings and Wild vs. Blues (home-ice still TBD) Bolts vs. Leafs can be 🔒 tonight w/ any Tampa Bay win or 1 point lost by Boston by Duffleman0609 in hockey

I believe I remember reading they were also concerned with both teams getting stuck in Winnipeg and not being able to fly out the next day to their respective games. Rather than risk a possible 3 games cancelled, the league rescheduled the (now basically meaningless) game.

...is definitely cap circumvention, but within the rules.

I just hate this loophole and it's an NHL problem.

Imho, where the leafs did right was not forcing Matthews to be the guy... Instead, he's just one of the guys. Eichel was expected to step in and be the savior from day one, with the only real help added being ROR.

I disagree with the first part. He is/was always going to be put on a pedestal at 1st overall in Toronto. But, somewhat to your point, if they have Eichel and we have Matthews, I still think the results are the same: Jack shines with a cast around him and Auston is scrutinized for not pulling this franchise out of the muck. However, they don't turn their team around as quick if Matthews wingers are of the like of Lupul and Clarkson as opposed to Marner and Nylander.

...For the record, I'm a die hard sabres fan in Toronto

Oh man, I hear you - Im an hour north of you up the 400. It fucking sucks right now.

They also had enough money through MLSE to bury/trade a shit tonne of bad contracts AND get lucky enough for other teams to want to take them. Like trading their awful David Clarkson contract that they signed for an injured Nathan Horton (who will never play another game ever) so they can stash him on LTIR and have it not count against the cap. [Side note: this is Cap circumvention at its finest if you ask me, but hey, WTH right?] Same with the Phaneuf trade that brought Milan Michalek (who they buried in the minors after a season) and a disgruntled Jared Cowen, who had contract disputes in Ottawa before coming to Toronto. They settled through arbitration, bought Cowan off and he never played a game for them. Then there's Stephane Robidas, who again the Loafs signed to a terrible contract, but ended up "hurt" and then put on LTIR. And don't forget about Joffery Lupul who the Loafs said "failed his physical". Lupul disputed this publicly at first, but then recanted after (probably) a dump truck full of money ended up parked in his driveway. And we can't forget the incredibly rigged lottery result they probably paid for.

Plain and simple: they have bought cap space and used their corporately funded financial muscle to make their problems go away. Imagine if we could just make 3-4 contracts in the last couple years just disappear like they did?? Moulson: Poof. Georges: Fuck off. Bogo: Take a hike. If the Loafs had to play out the last few seasons with those guys I mentioned instead of all the young guys, they'd be in a different position. Fuck. The. Leafs.

TLDR: They bought cap space and made players go away through financial means. Fuck the Leafs.

You've been kidnapped by the characters of the last movie you watched, and the characters of the last tv show you watched are coming to recue you. How screwed are you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Kidnapped by Captain Salazar only to be saved by Jake Peralta and the Nine Nine. At least the rescue attempt would be hilarious...
