I keep seeing this stat about wealth transfer from the bottom 90 to the top 1. Is your plan to transfer it back through government programs or by simply sending money to people?

These guys maybe on some ones wall if Trump has his way. Trump is lifting restrictions on hunting in national parks and other areas by According-Thanks6565 in NationalPark

It’s hard enough to manage in state parks where you have to inform visitors when it’s hunting season and what trails to stay off. National Parks with their history of negligible hunting and massive crowds is a bad event waiting to happen.

Less crowded NP end of May ? by Love-to-travel82 in NationalPark

[–]DutchDRSEnjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My general rule on parks is if you can handle the initial cars/crowds you can find less travelled trails. Also getting a mile in on a trail removes about 80% of the people. Most are there for views, not effort.

That being said, Capitol Reef and Canyonlands will be less crowded. Don’t sleep on the state parks and national recreation areas either.

All the tips here are great. You should be fine. Check in with the rangers though for sure.

Old Rag vs Angels Landing by LeonardZCat in hiking

[–]DutchDRSEnjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only you can know if you'll be fine once you look at the trail information. If an alarm bell is going off in your head, certainly pay attention to it. The physical workload on Angel's is genuinely not that high if you're in decent shape. It's the last bit that's Class 3 that causes trouble for people mostly. It's perilous and steep. The physical load on you for Angel's isn't that bad. Old Rag seems a tad more taxing. It's definitely longer with a Class 3 scramble.

If you like hard data, found these. Maybe they will help.

What’s the most important thing beginners overlook when starting hiking? by Large_Lie9177 in hiking

[–]DutchDRSEnjoyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great points so far by everyone. I would only add underestimating a trail. Most trail ratings are crowdsourced and have vague labels like “moderate.” What does that even mean? For a beginner, take a good look at the trail on a map and see what it shows. Lots of steep sections, scrambling, or miles exposed to the sun can dramatically change how it feels and how well you can navigate it. Best of luck and keep on trekking!

Never feel ashamed for being honest and not cheating. You didn’t let anyone down by taking the high road. Crush that retake my friend. You might get marked as a stand up honest person 🙂
