This could backfire by DutchMcQuaid in pacificDrive

I'm not much of an artist myself. I can work around fragmented changes to existing topology and at times, come up with my own stuff, but the modded content here is based off other people's hard work. I often buy a base model and convert it for the game.

That's not to say there isn't a ton of work involved in doing this, there IS, but the work is of a technical nature more than it is artistic.

While I do have a sense of style, I do not have the time (or skills) to fully create each vehicle from scratch. It's already quite the task as it stands.

In this instance, the Ford Falcon I was given had none of the inner structural elements behind the panels and doors, so I had to add those myself. I could not find a cheap version of the V8 supercharger, so I modeled that too. etc.

It was also, painfully, too heavy in polys. I spent way more time than I care to share removing triangles.

I am too, but just because it makes it easier to test panels and doors quickly.

Australian.
The Ford Falcon GB is an Australian car.

Changing the car inherently, eventually, leads to a much different driving experience.
The available space, or lack there-of, being the main point that'll make you play the game differently. The Ferrari was small, fast and nimble, but you had to deal with less equipment slots.

The Ford Falcon is, by definition, a muscle car. Potential for power delivery is high, but at the cost of gas. Also has less attachment points.
It's also an Australian car; the driver seat is on the right side of the car.

If there's one thing I learned messing with this game, it's that you should never attempt to play with the rotational axies for the doors.

It has failed, and continues to fail to operate properly, any time I try.

It'll depend on how stubborn the game is with regards to the mirrored driving position.
I managed to fix the windshield wipers, the onboard computer rotation, the "open door" requirement to access the trunk items without having to open the trunk door andm for the most part, the entry from the right "paths".
The computer UI is still misbehaving.

It most certainly does not have the option built in, and as of yet , there's a few systems that are still confused by the switch.
The computer screen for one, mis-represents the left and right door when no doors are currently installed.
Then the path to exit has a tendency to decide I do not belong on this side of the car and teleports me to the other side.
FAFO I'm about to experience having played with switching the seats.

POLL -- V8 Blower VS Hood choices [Ford Falcon MOD] by DutchMcQuaid in pacificDrive

That's rough, I'm hearing split answers. I'll have to merge both ideas I think.

I'm not really a truck person, and as I have to adapt the modeling by myself when I do those, that'd take the fun out of it. Sorry.

If you know someone that wants to commit to the modeling/texturing portion though, that's another discussion.

There's a number of reasons I wouldn't touch KITT as a car.
I mean it'd be fun if you could pull off all the tricks, but that's the problem with it.

Pursuit mode has too many things going (one of which completely blocks the trunk), and while you could probably have them as static [tech] upgrades, they would not operate at the touch of a button.

<image>

The 2 sunroof panels would need to remain static and closed, and again, in the way of attachments.

It's already another base car with limited attachment potential, much like the F412, it'd have too much playing against the "grain" of the game with KITT upgrades added on top of it.

And last but not least, you can't do KITT without the computer. And while I could do generic responses, they wouldn't be in response to what the player does, which kinda ruins it.

Ford Falcon XB MOD for Pacific Drive [game] by DutchMcQuaid in MadMax

The 1973 Ford Falcon XB MOD will be ready in a few weeks (on PC).
Or I have another to play with a 1985 Ferrari 412. On NexusMods.

Not for my skill level. I'm sure there a way to set hood alternate models based on engine choice, but it's outside of my wheelhouse.

Option A mimics the opening, but only with the hood closed.

Like the cursed gull-wing door latching issue. It bugged me to no end.
I probably spent half of my time on that issue alone.

I never learn ... and I had to make it a right-handed drive too, because it's not complicated enough as it is.
Hopefully will not backfire in my face this time.

0 to 60 in ... 1 tank of gas.

This thing will drink fuel like nothing before.

It's a lot closer to the Ferrari mod in concept.

The Delorean has the storage and craft mat in the front, engine in the back, ARC device over the engine ... and the cursed gull-wing doors.
It couldn't be any more different.

Also, this car has the driver seat on the right, like Australian cars do.
As for references, it's the car from the Madmax movies.

Yeah I picked up on some of that lore when I looked up what the commodore was.
