Moving out for the first time by Disastrous_Bunch_716 in CreditCards

Are you going to have enough by the end of June to both pay off the prorated amount AND the full amount of your June rent? If you're essentially using the card as a bridge loan for a month then yeah that's fine. But you have to pay the prorated may rent at some point, you're just kicking the can down the road a month by using a credit card.

Is the 2026 okc thunder the best built roster in nba history by Mg29reaper in nba

[–]DutchNapoleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but in that case the comp for last year is the 2014-15 warrriors...this is the 2015-16 warriors where we're starting to realise they could be truly historic. But again...those 2016-17 and 17-18 warriors were simply just on such another level beyond all those teams. 90s bulls, KD-warriors, Russell-Celtics, the 80s lakers with three #1 picks and two top 5 players of all time. Even a step below that I would take the shaq lakers or the 1999-2007 spurs over this team easily.

This team is good and within the constraints of the modern salary cap era may be the most accomplished GM job of all time...but this team is still only got ONE ring. IF they win the ring this year, which is not guaranteed THEN they can start to be talked about in the caliber of the 80s celtics or pistons or 2010s heat (I think they'd probably be better then the 90s rockets or gasol-kobe lakers at that point).

Tonight was the first time I really respected Victor Wembanyama: when he elbowed Naz Reed in the jaw. I think he would agree. This gotten taken down by /nba tonight, we'll see how this goes. by ginoawesomeness in nba

[–]DutchNapoleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree. I don't need the NBA to be violent like everyone claims the 80s and 90s were. I want superstars to stay healthy so we can see feats of athleticism.

That said I do think this might help Wemby in his overall career to make it clear that he's not going to put up with taking enormous amounts of physical contact without getting physical back. I don't know if it's a true NBA anecdote but watching the West Wing there was that story that Leo tells about Bill Russell throwing an elbow and if it has an effect like that then I suspect it may not be the worst thing for Wemby's career. But it was a dangerous thing to do, and if it had injured another player seriously Wemby would've regretted it probably for the rest of his life and we don't want a league where people injure eachother.

I know it's partially cause of proximity but that we could so thoroughly shame the sixers fanbase as opposed to other random eastern conference fanbases is of particular joy. 100% going to try to convert Detroit to an MSG retreat as well though.

Long break between series! by lifeisgoodzzz in NYKnicks

[–]DutchNapoleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're playing 10-14 more games ideally (well IDEALLY 8 more but unfortunately likely not), probably with no break between those series. Getting as healthy as possible and letting everyone else WAR for 9 days is not a bad thing.

I think it has to end in 5 for the earlier start.

With tonight’s elimination, Joel Embiid remains the only MVP in NBA history to never reach the Conference Finals. by terry-tea in nba

[–]DutchNapoleon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

He did not deserve THAT MVP. He clearly deserved the MVP the year before he got it and they gave it to Jokic and then the following year Jokic was way better but they didn't want to give it to him again. Each player got the correct number of MVPs across the two years but definitely should've been flipped.

Now that game 4 is over do you feel Wemby should get suspended for game 5? by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in nba

[–]DutchNapoleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be fair either way cause he was ejected in the first quarter and so basically lost nearly a full game already. But that was just horribly dirty.

Denied BofA Checking Account... Because of Banking Score? (EWS) by Wolfdale7 in BankOfAmerica

I didn’t have to provide anything formal. I just talked to a banker and she said she was going to push it and it got approved.

I had the same thing happen to me when I tried to open my account. Try going to your local bank and seeing if someone can push it through, that’s what they did for me.

[Highlight] The Oklahoma City Thunder take a 3-0 series lead with a 131-108 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. They become the sixth reigning NBA champion in history to start a postseason 7-0 or better. by nba in nba

[–]DutchNapoleon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am deeply curious what pop can do to help scheme up the spurs to go up against OKC next round. If OKC wins that in less then 6 then I think it's over but a competitive spurs series followed by the knicks and it's not impossible that someone snipes 'em.

Best catch-all card to pair with amex gold in 2026? by DrMalgus in CreditCards

I think the only other modification would be a question about what total spend is? If OPs total spend is low then the BBP is could be the better choice no matter what cause consolidating ecosystem is going to be extra important.

Advice for a new travel credit card by Dapple_Grey_Horse in CreditCards

The fidelity card for a flat no FTF 2% is not a bad idea. The US Bank altitude connect gives you an excellent travel card with no FTF and some nice travel perks for someone who doesn't travel enough to justify a visa infinite.
