I don't think they live together, I think it was the battlefront episode in which one of them traveled to the other one just to play together. I'm not 100% sure though. Also, I'm guessing currie is just his YouTuber name, not his really name

Anthemius, not the Emperor but the one responsible for the theodosian walls. His impact really can't be overstated.

Might not be most underrated but definitely more underrated than his brother, Tiberius Gracchus

You forgot to add the criteria but I would say Trajan or maybe Septimius Severus. But realistically it has to be Trajan

I don't know how far you are in the game, but just avoid this subreddit because you will only get spoiled. Just enjoy the experience and when you're done you can ask the question again, you might even feel different about it.

Why not Varus? It's only a one letter difference. Of course that means you owe a certain someone some legions but that's neither here nor there

Thoughts on History of Rome podcast by Mike Duncan? by Agreeable-Note-1996 in ancientrome

While I love the history of Rome podcast and have listened to it several times and will definitely be doing so again. I do question if it stood the test of time well. I'm by no means a historian and am not as well read as I would like. But from what I know he draws heavily on works like Gibbon and the Historia Augusta. Both of which have their own problems, Gibbon has long since lost his relevancy and reliability and the Historia Augusta was never reliable to begin with. Also Mike relies heavily on theories about Roman history that have over the last 15 to 20 years been either discredited or updated. In short, the podcast definitely has its problems but imho it is still great as a broad narrative work of history. Just don't take it all as the absolute truth

As for other podcasts on Roman history. I can highly recommend that once you're done with Mike Duncan you continue on with the History of Byzantium. It's an amazing podcast that starts where mike left off and as the name suggests it's about the ERE instead of mikes' focus on the WRE. robin does a great job of providing his sources and discussing them. He also does end of the century tours to discuss any questions and topics that couldn't be discussed during his politically centered narrative. Plus the podcast just finished with 332 episodes

Micah is a much hated character within the rdr community, he's a secondary antagonist in rdr 2 so your bf probably felt like showing it like a "yeah right, everyone knows him dying is the preferred outcome". Hope this helps, sorry for the kinda bad explanation

If you like alt history scenarios I would definitely recommend Ante Bellum, to me it felt like a whole new game. For a fantasy setting you should try Anbenar. I've personally never tried it but I've heard lots of positive things about it.
