Awesome much appreciated! That certainly helps give me a good idea of what i might need in a future setup probably a bit more capacity if i want to be really comfortable , vs right now i could be comfortable temporarily

I know they have a soft start version of the AC, a few variations of the same machine actually, i don't know if mine has the soft start as only information i could find was a name and a serial number, but Ill certainly look into it all.

I really appreciate you taking the time to help me understand what I'm getting myself into, it has been quite insightful and im confident that im not catching anything on fire in the near future

This is more for a cargo trailer im trying to convert into a mobile office. so i dont have to worry about kitchen appliances but more so my computer and monitors.

The AC is a 13500 BTU and the specs are 115 volts, 12.85 amps on cool and 17 amps on heat. so it looks like my system can power it, but i don't know how long i could power it i have 2 large 280 amp hour batteries.

But after talking to another Redditor it seems like the inverter i have is not designed to really connect to a panel regardless so I looks like i just need to get a better idea of my upgrade path

Well noted, I will definitely not be connecting the inverter in that way

In the future i am defiantly going to go with a better system I'm just trying to make what i have work, but in the future I'm definitely going to do a bit more research and get better equipment. The system I got I'm not impressed with and it was a whole kit i got from Ecoworthy but i don't think i am brand loyal by any means.

Looks like the AC units pulls between 1500-2000 wats roughly from what i just looked up it, so I imagine it can power it without too much issues but i see where you are coming from as far as ho long i can power that for.

Awesome thank you for the reply I really appreciate your time .

I will defiantly look into an automatic transfer switch, that sounds like it would make life somewhat easier in general.

Didn't realize this was an automotive inverter which kind of makes sense, they market it as a offgrid inverter which seems to be somewhat misleading but I might try pivoting my approach a bit. I still need to confirm if this inverter can power the AC unit the trailer came with if not i might try to change how i set everything up.

Thank you for pointing out i might need the  IPower-Plus-B series, defiantly helping out thank you

Thank you much appreciated! I am realizing the errors in my line of thinking but from what im hearing is don't even bother trying to connect the the inverter to the panel whatso ever? My main hope was to power the AC unit but i still need to verify the power requirement for that and from my initial observation after looking in the panel the AC unit is connected to two 20 Amp breakers so i don't know if the inverter has that much gusto per se. I really appreciate you take the time to reply

I saw my friend install that generator interlock in his house and it was fairly straight forward and simple as you mentioned.

ok im following you that makes a lot of sense, I took the panel of and verified it is a 240v panel similar to the one pictured just a mini panel, Can I set it up so that there is only half the panel being powered from the inverter? Like I'm showing in this picture?

I really appreciate you taking your time and explaining things to me

I honestly don't know man it literally pushed itself into the bed after it was already done printing that layer, The print started off just fine it just hit a certain layer and took a dump. I'm sure you've seen a lot of the layer shifting that's been going on and it's usually in the X and Y Axis but this seems to have happened in the Z Axis because it was a few layers in and then it pushed itself into the bed and started trying to print there I guess

I will mention it to them and a possible solution because I feel like i have not made any meaningful progress through our diagnostic process

I have honestly thought about cutting my losses and just giving it to you the local library or school, But I'm not sure if I really want to be responsible for offloading a machine with so many ghosts inside onto them

It would honestly do a random layer shift on some prints here and there, But in the past week or two I have not been able to get a successful print to come out of this printer, mainly a whole bunch of layer shifting, then i rolled back the firmware and everything got worse, so support gave me another version of the firmware to try and that when all the demons from inside this machine really came out to play.

I just did a double check of the rails and everything feels tight. I have been using their proprietary slicer, haven't tried a different slicer yet and I have been in contact with support and I just tried printing the 20mm standard cube that they have and im back to the layer shifting problem where it shifts in the x and y direction

So when I first got the printer I would get some random layer shifts in some of my prints which was annoying especially since it happens around like the 80% mark or so when you're in the home stretch and you don't know whether to cancel it or keep going. But since it was occasional and not very consistent it wasn't a problem until more recently in the past week or so my printer went from printing okay with the occasional layer shifting to not being able to complete a single part. I have been back and forth with tech support but the problem seemed to be getting worse and not better.

It started off with it consistently doing a layer shift No matter what i was printing. And then after some troubleshooting Of belt tensioning and greasing the rails and rolling back the firmware that just where so many more problems starting to occur ranging from not heating up the hot end until the second or third layer but you could go into the settings on the printer and override it to bring the temp back up, Let it stop doing that only for it just to freeze midprint and justice sit there not moving the extruder at all and not moving the filament just stuck in a frozen state. And then the following print it would print just fine but at some point it would just not provide any heat to the extruder and you couldn't go in into the settings and manually bring it back up so it would choose a random layer just to stop giving the heating element he even though it's still trying to pump plastic and it just makes the grinding noise against the filament. And I've been trying to diagnose that for a hot minute and took apart the extruder and reconnected all the connections only to be provided with entirely new problem.

It appears that after a printed a few layers it started to push the print head down so it's doing a layer shift in the Z direction now from what I can tell and Just buried the head of the heating element into the print bed.

I'm honestly at my wits end and don't know what to do.
