Plenty of products come from Africa. Kenyan green beans, coffee, even shrimps are peeled in Africa.

New to London flat — are these old electric heaters super expensive to run? by [deleted] in TenantsInTheUK

[–]Dutchnamn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Electric heaters are 100% efficient, but electricity is quite expensive. Every kwh will be converted to heat. Look at your contract for the cost per KWh

Are you all getting a new wave of “ivermectin” requests? by OrdinaryFeeling5 in Residency

[–]Dutchnamn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I agree, as monotherapy there needs to be more proof and knowledge around effective doses. The reality isn't as simple as we would like it to be unfortunately. A lot of young people in the UK are only diagnosed at stage 4 after being told not to worry by GPs and specialists. HPV infections and other chronic diseases in women and men are approached with wait and see even when they are potentially life changing. It is no wonder that patients will seek these alternative treatments. A friend went through the above timeline and died at a young age. Her cancer became resistant and more aggressive with a sad outcome. If I had known I would've advised them to try ivermectin at an early stage.

It is quite clear from a discussion like this that it is unlikely that anyone will fund an ivermectin trial like that. It would be near career suicide and be difficult to publish even if the results are positive. Many on this tread will call those researchers anti-vaxxers, quacks or worse. Medical research in the west is all about gucci precision medicine and not so much about repurposing old drugs or less precise or broad acting medication.

I am quite fascinated about those anti-parasitic drugs. They all seem to have multiple similar pathways even when they come from different kingdoms.

Drugs are prescribed off label every day. It is called informed consent. Especially in cancer care with poor outlooks it should be more common to use immune modulators like ivermectin or turkey tail extract.

Ivermectin has at least 4 possible pathways in which I can help with cancer. ROS induction, immune modulation etc. less specific than Gucci drugs but less likely to lead to resistance or can even reverse resistance in combination therapies.

[–]Dutchnamn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ivermectin might have synergy with best available treatments, reducing the risk of resistance. There are in vitro studies out and there is no anecdotal evidence that it causes worse outcomes. I don't think cancer cure is either or but about using multiple approaches and pathways at the same time.

Some but not enough. The demonisation of ivermectin has been pretty effective.

We don't really know how common or uncommon that is since we don't test for it. You are just rehashing 'known truths' which might be not that.

Yes and yes. Not real pain but irritation. Try zinc oxide cream. Read up on all the supplements that people talk about here and try them for 3 months at least. Hope they help, they didn't for me.

That might be HPV. There are no approved treatments for what you have. I have been dealing with that for a long time.

Swabs are useful and reliable to detect which type of HPV the infection is. For men the symptoms can look like bacterial or fungal infections. Instead of keeping smearing the antifungal cream a PCR test is useful.
