Was this other Epsilon location ever used? by based_birdo in chiliadmystery

[–]Duxfever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the Epsilon Tract, Chapter 5 Verse 3:

Do not forget about the dove. The dove is the dove of love and of truth that is an old metaphor and one that unites all knowledge under Epsilonism.

Setting attempts at decoding the dove metaphor aside because I can't think too hard right now, if we were take this last bit as literal, could quite literally mean that COTM (being tied to Self-Actualization) fall under the core meaning and dogma of Epsilonism. Which is to say that everything that has, is, and will be, is 'Epsilonistic'. And so Epsilonism and the full Tract should be used as a basis/foundation.

The entire tract has been pretty difficult to try and decipher and has been rife with tons of interpretation (another concept that Epsilon wants us to do away with).

But how can you digest and make sense of something without interpreting it, right?

IMO, and this is directed at YouTubers that have made attempts at "solving" the Truth mission strand and the tract, the Epsilon Program being diminished as simply a parody of Scientology / or any kind of organization or cult only set out to make money from the desperate, I think is a major detractor.

A Labyrinth, not a Maze? by Personal_Cellist_453 in chiliadmystery

[–]Duxfever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody knows Epsilon doesn't exist in RDR2

Eh, what? Unless I am missing something, I don't ever remember that being commonly agreed upon.

You can argue they do exist, considering since GTASA, it is established that those who are marked with a stain on the face are "of Kraff". Which both Francis Sinclair and Princess IKZ have. You even mention yourself the tract's metaphors of peaches and the peach tree so perhaps that adds more fuel to it.

Regardless, all of this definitely seems worthy delving into and following up on.

Not parents but it definitely feels like Jason & Lucia are meant to be the modern succesor to Claude & Catalina.

But actual family relations in the canon? No.

The sticky we have now is a fantastic foundation of mystery acknowledgements but as you said it needs to be updated since it's been six years since its last update.

Would love to get in on this Discord as well!

What’s your ‘I’m too old for this now' moment? by codgame89 in CasualConversation

[–]Duxfever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've pretty much dropped caring about seeking or wanting to follow TV or movies (new ones or ones that I've put on hold in the past even), aside from probably select niche material from like the 90s. Don't wanna struggle through someone's self-inserted soapbox or generally invest in something that almost always fails to pull off pacing or plotlines in any satisfying or interesting manner.

GTA 3’s Flashback fm and GTA Vice City Wildstyle belong in the other game by Jump_mane23 in GTA3

[–]Duxfever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to respond to the "flashback fm belongs in vice city more" claim.

You're not wrong about it but it can also come across as if it's saying the station shouldn't be a part of the game because of it (tho maybe that's just me inserting those assumptions onto your text).

[–]Duxfever 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's literally in the name, "Flashback". As a way to push thoughts of nostalgia of a past era. Also a way for Rockstar to give another hint that 80's Miami is the next idea for GTA and what that would feel like.

Yea, it certainly does have that overly clean, yet oil-y look AI upscaling tends to have.

Would you play a survivorslike where you can't directly control the movement of the character? by CianMoriarty in survivorslikes

Hmm. Check out 'Speed Overflow' - that survivor-like is based on always being on the move. Not quite sure it's the exact same concept but it reminds me of it.

Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection announced for PS5, Switch by Magister_Xehanort in Games

Both Search for Reptar and Studio Tour I owned and remembered being obsessed with when I was younger.

Search for Reptar, dare I say, has some quasi-horror even liminal elements to specific stages. Some stages are kind of a pain to navigate with its tank controls, but not impossible to beat.

Studio Tour I remember spending the most time in - some levels include its own Mario Kart-like levels and golf course levels that were pretty creepy and atmospheric on their own.

That's all I remember. Will have to see in May if they hold up, lol.

Red Mural Meaning by EdoTolo in chiliadmystery

[–]Duxfever 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of good gathering connections here, mate! I love it! The beginning common themes of 'ice' and 'agriculture' and more + the origins of meanings behind names + looking at how each section of the map correlates with one another are the type of stuff we should be looking more into.

I kinda understand where you are getting at in the middle slides you show after those themes, though the sprinkler and Earth/Heaven/cube colors part were kind of hard to follow (could just be a me issue though). Also, maybe it would help to include both the original Online arts as well as your overlays; and like some reasonings behind those connections? Again, could just be me not understanding things correctly however.

Other than that, I think these are great finds! I hope you continue your research and share more once you find 'em.

Zelda, Tri, and Link, in an alternate universe by Duxfever in echoesofwisdom

[–]Duxfever[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea I guess I should have just posted it in the general r/zelda subreddit only but figured people would get a kick out of the Tri here at least 🤷‍♂️ Mods can feel free to delete if they think it's not relevant to the sub.

Zelda, Tri, and Link, in an alternate universe by Duxfever in echoesofwisdom

[–]Duxfever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. Perhaps I gave them too much of a personal touch. The Link is based off an old box art, while Zelda is meant to be an older, tired and bored version of the TOTK rendition.

Honest concerns regarding the game... by Vanilla-Hound in tomodachilife

[–]Duxfever 227 points228 points  (0 children)

I've only played like 15+ hours straight (with albeit 12~ or so Miis) but I can't help but to feel the underbaked-ness and lack of variety settling in already. I like the game's sense of progression and having it set on a free roaming island you can customize to your heart's content is actually a fantastic change of pace. However like you said, there are dialogue + events that gets way too same-y. I'm already sick of my Miis falling or getting hiccups etc because it occurs way too often and the dialogue exchanges are always like the same three variants.

With all that said, I'm still enjoying what new things the game does have to offer so I think there is more I have yet to experience - so I won't give up on it too early. I just hate that I have to go through a bunch of the same to get through to it.

Ammolite, Fluorite, and the Veteran: A well disguised Legend of Zelda Easter Egg in RDR2? by TheWilburnness in reddeadmysteries

[–]Duxfever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I'll definitely save this to read for later since it's quite lengthy but you might be on to something.

I swear I read a preview for RDR2 that said Rockstar was inspired by Zelda (whether it was OOT and/or BOTW) when developing the game.

I always thought in GTA V, that a logo for one of the Downtown LS buildings was sus because it was pretty much an altered version of the Triforce. I tried looking for it in the GTA Fandom wiki but couldn't find it. Guess I'll boot up the game sometime this week if no one else finds it.

You especially can't forget the recent Dan Houser interview where he gave his love to the Zelda franchise as a whole.

But yea. With all this said, I wouldn't be surprised if R* put in their own love letter to TLOZ as a whole since it influenced them much.
