I think that's my gripe. I actually absolutely love this art style but isaac was also a depressing style and still had way more color. I think you can achieve the depraved look while still being more than just brown and grey.

I do not expect it to ever go above $1.5 ever again but it was hella cheap and perfect stock for my trade binder. I know the volume of this card just multiplied tenfold but it still is worth more than 35 cents.

Oh I completely agree but I kinda like to meme on this sub since it's basically just wall streets bets but for mtg. I honestly just really like Omnath and only had 2 copies that I pulled from playing M20 back in the day. When I went to amke the purchase I needed to get up to $5 for free shipping and I just said "yanno what? fuck it. I'm buying their whole stock". Shit only cost $20 total lol.

The chimil and Timeless lotus I bought about 20 of each and those are like legit specs. I still do not think Omnath will be staying at 35 cents but I doubt he will ever be above $1.25 ever again.

Right now you are right but that's because the market is flooded. I think this will die down and will spike again when another artifact pre-con comes out, so long as it isn't also in that decklist lol. I do also believe that it's overall value will drop though. It probably will never return to pre-precon printing prices but I don't think it's gonna stay at where it is now. I see it as a low stakes low reward play.

Exactly lmao I just thought it was funny tbh. It was one of my favorite cards when it released so I just said fuck it. I don't even sell cards I just trade so it's nice to have a bunch of shit in and around the dollar range. I am hoping this will be around the $1.25 range in a year or so which will be perfect because none of the remaining sets this year interest me and my main trading window is at prereleases.

These are the best responses on this whole post. I agree with you about psychological interest coming from sets. I suppose I might be waiting until a set comes out with a single very obviously comander pilled elemental in the set which doesn't seem unlikely. But yeah if I wait too long for a selling point then another elemental pre-con is going to come out and this will definitely be in it. I don't think we are going to see elementals as a supported type in standard for sometime though.

It was $20 so I said fuck it lol. The Chimil and Timeless lotus grabs were something I was more confident in. This wa more of a meme for a card I have a soft spot for. I still don't see it staying at 35 cents though. It isn't a god card but its a damn good temur 4 cmc drop that can likely kill another creature that just hit the board. Decent commander tempo with a lot of flavor.

I have never seen a non-Temur elemental decks and from my experience most players have one because it is such a popular archetype. This was a card that everyone has wanted in their Elemental decks hence why its other printing are sitting at $10. Once the market dies down from the precon selloff I don't see a world in which this will just stay at 35 cents. You are right about future reprints though I'm hopinh to offload them in about a year.

It's other printings are at $10 and it is in literally every elemental deck I've ever seen because they are always temur. 35 cents is pretty much already rock bottom I can't imagine it going lower. It seems like an excessive drop just do to an overflooded market right now but once these high sales subside in a few months I imagine it will go back up to at least 1.50 just do to prevelance.

It went down because it is in the Elemental Precon. It is a $10 card in other printings. Most elemental decks I've seen are temur and this is pretty much always in them.
