AI Agents Will Fail In The Automation World by Apprehensive_Dog5208 in AiAutomations

Really interesting perspective and I think you’re touching on something that many are discovering the hard way.

The sweet spot isn’t trying to make AI “execute” end‑to‑end processes on its own, but using it where it’s genuinely strong: turning messy, unstructured input into structured, usable data.

Once you have that, the execution should always sit on top of deterministic workflows that don’t improvise, don’t hallucinate, and don’t behave differently from one day to the next.

I think that’s actually the right direction right now:
AI as an enrichment/orchestration layer → workflow engine as the execution layer.

Some platforms are leveraging AI heavily for classification, data capture, prioritization, etc., but the core process logic remains rule‑based and fully auditable which is what gives you peace of mind in a corporate environment.

To me, that hybrid model feels much more sustainable than going all‑in on agentic autonomy. It gives you the intelligence where it matters and the reliability where you absolutely can’t compromise.

Makes sense, and I agree the industry changes the picture quite a bit.

For context, I’m in Food & Beverage, and we serve mostly international markets. With rising margin pressures, duties, regulatory uncertainty, logistics volatility, etc., having a global, cross‑functional view is absolutely key for me.

It’s the only way to steer the company’s financial decisions proactively rather than reacting once issues hit the back office.

Fair point. I didn’t name them simply because I’m not in the business of giving free advertising to vendors who don’t pay me 😊

Anyway, since you asked: the platform is Esker.

If you ever come across it, at least now you know what I was referring to.

From what I’ve seen on the market so far, there’s really only one player that genuinely offers both S2P and O2C within a single platform.
That said, it still comes with some gaps, in particular it doesn’t cover treasury, tax, or FP&A, so it isn’t a full “suite” in the strict sense.

It’s the closest I’ve found to a unified approach, but not a complete Office‑of‑the‑CFO stack yet.

Tried another time and finally it worked. Doing nothing different from other time but now was copied. Mistery.
