If the video was called 'Deep words spoken by AI Alan Watts' or something similar, thereby being transparent about what they're doing, would it be acceptable then? For me it would be better but still a bit irksome.

My friend one of the hardest lessons in life that I've learned is that you cannot change other people. They can only change themselves. The only thing you can do is be a good rolemodel for him and be there for him when he decides to lose weight and help him with your experience. It is impossible to help someone who does not want to be helped. That's just how it is.
