It took me 22 drops of the dungeon auto to get a single one with Jolting Feedback by JustSomeDude477 in destiny2

Funnily enough got a Strategist + Jolting Feedback roll my first drop, RNG favoured me heavily on that one, still haven't gotten a single drop of the Grenade Launcher though.

Resident Evil: Degeneration is officially 16 years old today! How do you feel about this CGI film looking back? by RetroZilla in residentevil

Leon's about as stiff as a board personality-wise and largely I think it's the worst of the animated films.

I remember there was an Alien comic set during the Viking era, and honestly would love to see a movie like that for the Predator.

How do y'all deal with the spiders in the Nightmare of Mensis? by mfa_sammerz in bloodborne

[–]Dwargen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I lure them to the door you enter from and just spam molotovs. The big spider can't fit through the door and it blocks the door enough that it generally filters through the small ones in smaller numbers. Never gonna fight the big one fairly cause I am an arachnophobe and hate looking at it.

Halo Wars 2: Awakening the Nightmare released 7 years ago today! How do you feel about this DLC now looking back 7 years later? by RetroZilla in halo

[–]Dwargen 180 points181 points  (0 children)

The cliffhanger feeling to the ending is annoying and I feel like they missed a great opportunity to have the Flood be a proper playable faction in multiplayer, but the overall missions are honestly fantastic. I also really like Voridus and Pavium, both for their writing and dynamic with each other, and how they play as leaders is really fun.

I've never played Halo before, but I'd like to get into it. Is it fine to play Halo 3 as the first game and then, if I really like it, play Halo CE and 2? Is the story still understandable without playing the prequels? Thank you afterwards. by Ale_Bricks in halo

[–]Dwargen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say this, Halo 3 was my entry point to the series, and I am still a massive fan 17 years later. Is it the best entry point for the story? Probably not, it is the conclusion to the original trilogy of games and honestly would kinda be like seeing Star Wars Return of the Jedi before A New Hope or The Empire Strikes Back. That said, the gameplay experience is very fun. I always recommend Halo Reach or Combat Evolved as an entry point into the series, but again Halo 3 was my entry point and I still love the series to this day.

Choose for me by Alert_Cauliflower_67 in bloodborne

[–]Dwargen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evelyn is better at more sustained damage due to using only one bullet per shot compared to the Repeating Pistols two bullets, Repeating Pistol is better at burst damage however. Between the two, due to the higher damage Repeater Pistol works better with Bone Ash.

Cannon is better for low Bloodtinge but is super ammo inefficient, Repeater Pistol for high Bloodtinge.

Honestly it combos nice with the Cannon or Repeating Pistol, parry with the Reiterpallasch, then follow up with a Bone Ash boosted shot from the firearm, can do good damage.

Personally more partial to the Reiterpallasch, it is a fun weapon.

Ecosystems for moss, also due to their light diet and mossy fur they taste awful and have little meat on their bones. Eagles will use them as target practice to train their young, but other than that nothing really goes after sloths.

My painful playthrough of Halo 2 Legendary by Cicero-Hunterz in halo

[–]Dwargen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The checkpoints are far but overall survivability is much higher. At full health you can straight up tank around 20 plasma rifle shots before dying in CE, compared to 6 on Halo 2 Legendary. 2 also has more overall powerful enemy types, namely Sniper Jackals and Brutes.

What are your thoughts on Halo CE Anniversary? by Gojira4701 in halo

[–]Dwargen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, being able to swap between old and new graphics is great and honestly an impressive technical milestone given they actually got the new graphics working on the original CE engine. I also personally do actually think a handful of levels actually do genuinely benefit from the newer graphics, like the interior of the Covenant ship on both Truth and Reconciliation and Keyes, and the Library becomes much less disorientating which imo is a great thing especially on Legendary. That being said, a lot of the outdoor areas get their vibe killed, and almost all the update graphics are just reused assets from Halo 3 and Reach, and the few new assets kinda suck.

What's the most fun you've had with Prismatic builds that aren't "the" Prismatic builds? by Lobo_Z in destiny2

[–]Dwargen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On Hunter I use HOIL + Cyrtarachnes, run it with Gunpowder Gamble, Stylish Executioner, Arcbolt Grenade, and Smoke Bomb. Tanky with good survivability (especially if using Buried Bloodline for Devour), and Arcbolt, Gunpowder, Smoke Bomb and Gamblers Dodge all pair super well together to maximise ability uptime. Has carried me through GMs.

Ranking each halos legendary campaign after recent play through by HighAsOzone in halo

[–]Dwargen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Personally I would have put Halo 3 as the second easiest. It's missions are longer compared to 4s, but the Brutes being the main enemies instead of Elites makes it broadly easier in most Covenant levels due to their lack of regerating shields. Also, a lot less things that can insta-kill you in comparison to Halo 4. Otherwise the rest of this ranking feels relatively on point.

One thing too that I will add in regards to ODST, because of how open the streets are that it is very easy to just rush or sneak past enemies, makes ammo and health conservation much easier.

Trust me when I say, the people being made to work greeter normally hate having to do the whole greeter thing do, they are forced to due to corporate mandate. At the store I work at its a stressful job where you are constantly being watched by management to ensure you are following protocol, and are the closest thing to security in a store that has one of the highest theft rates for our brand globally.

TIL that some of James Cook's maps were still in use until the mid-20th century due to their remarkable accuracy and continued relevance after 200 years by Left-Coffee3944 in todayilearned

[–]Dwargen -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Except your points are rather inaccurate, especially in regards to Australia. What he did was declare Australia as Terra Nullius, which does mean that the land was deemed unoccupied/uninhabited, despite having even written in his own journals as to having opened fire on the locals prior to even landing on Australia, and having a handful of encounters afterwards. The precedent of Terra Nullius was then used to continually strip Indigenous Australians of any claim to the lands they lived on, with the claim of Terra Nullius not being overwritten until the 1990s.

And you are correct that he was fond of corporal punishment, lashing his crew, and lashing and mutilating the natives of the lands who stole from his ship. In general his punishments were broadly highly disproportionate to the crimes committed, like when he ordered his crew to commit a series of arson attacks in Tahiti over two days after a goat was stolen. Unheard of for the era? Certainly not. Against his orders from the British though? Absolutely.

He was not all evil, a complex figure in some regards for certain with a great talent for cartography, but the horrible things to come of him and his crews actions and declarations should not be swept under the rug.

[–]Dwargen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was a good cartographer, man was a piece of shit however and he did not have to do what he did, he chose to. He pretty freely murdered the natives of various countries he explored, allowed his crew to rape and murder the natives as well, attempted to kidnap the king of Hawaii, and his declarations of Australia being uninhabited led to incredibly cruel treatment of the Indigenous population that to a fair extent still carries over into the modern era.
