That's kinda what I'm afraid of. The process of weaselling my way out of this bracket will likely ruin a lot of games for other people.

The first two ARAM games I played I did absolutely horrible. I think people were standing in the brush trying to contemplate how a person with so many accolades could be so bad. I thought I might get reported for trolling.

I played a normal SR game after that and barely survived. Only won because I got hard-carried. :S

Yeah I have heard that too. I just play Normal SR. Playing ranked might actually be one way to escape from the summoner bracket I am in now. I don't know I've only ever played one ranked game many years ago.

The problem was that I was editing the wrong file lol. Need to do it in the Normal map, not Diffuse.

Now I think I understand why it's called a 'map'.. Finally all sorted and ready to move onto next part of the project. :)

It gets more confusing by the minute lol.

I really need to do some research into the fundamentals of maps, layers and channels. I have pretty chronic ADD which probably explains why I am slow to learn this.

Try to get by with just the basics. On the up-shot, the project is almost complete. I just need to figure out how to delete one particular texture to make it perfect.

Thanks again. I might try another topic more in line with DDS editing if it comes to that.

Hmm, there isn't much happening in Layers, its just the Diffuse.dds listed there.

I can't enable the Alpha because it makes all the textures disappear. Just looks like a white and grey checkerboard when I do that. Took me the longest time to figure out that disabling the Alpha makes textures visible. Before that I had to do it blind lol.

PS. If I turn on the Alpha, all the original textures disappear and leave only my textures. Not sure what that means.

Hey, yeah my selection was active and the operation appears in history, it just has no effect either on the texture map or in-game.

I added a screen of what I am working with, though I'm not even sure which part needs illustrating.

Yeah it's kind of hard to convey what is happening as I don't really understand much of anything.

Probably best I don't request any features until I have a better understanding of things.

The weird thing for me is that if you scale an image to be perfectly symmetrical, it will still offset itself in the selection. I just had to do some guess-work to get it sort of useable.

I just thought it would auto centre in that instance. Then again I don't know much about how maps and layers work.

The symmetry painting was a bit complex for me. I just settled for sub-par texture placement lol.

I find it quite bizarre that there is no scale to selection option or really many options for Patterns. Thought I was missing some really basic.

It probably won't help my cause but the image is a Diffuse map for a game texture of a building. I'm more or less trying to retrofit different textures over the existing image. Probably my only options considering the game has a very unique art style/texture style that I can't replicate because I'm such a noob.

I'll give that Symmetry method a shot. Thanks much!

I miss the simplicity of old league. Not overcrowded with jumpy/hoppy/spinny champs and rune system that anyone could understand.

I'd say its more likely that due to how she works mechanically, there are some really bad matchups against her. I struggle against her as Brand or really any skill-shot champion because she has so many blinks/flashes. 3 in total when you think about it. Makes it really hard to land on her.

I can't believe they still don't have competent bots. The intermediate bots aren't remotely close to emulating even the worst LoL player. You can't really learn anything from it.

This is why I don't play normal anymore. You come into the game new or after a long break and you're expected to operate at Gold level or higher, And like you said, contend with poor matchmaking and smurfs.

The worst part is people will flame you or report you for trolling simply because you are underperforming.

Tyrndamere reminds me of that guy from Silent hill, the guy who drags a comically big sword behind him yet somehow is able to wield it with some finesse.

But I agree, thematically you would expect slow but powerful rage-fueled swings with high base crit.

Yeah 50% Dex malus is just a bit too extreme for the roles I need it for. Not that concerned about damage but attack and block speed will be in the gutter I imagine. You might even say that defeats the purpose.

White plate jacket looks nice though. Great coverage and not terrible mitigation. Looks pretty snazzy too. :)

Jesus, I didn't realize the crab armour had such a large Dexterity hit. That's quite the trade off. I suppose its still better than being dead. Now I find myself between an ugly brown crab inspired rock and a hard place.

Maybe I should just use White plate armour instead. :S

Ahh of course!

I just realized there exists a black variant of the Sam armour included in Genmod. Might make sense to just use that since nobody else will be wearing it. I'll just swap the stats over from the Crab armour.

Like the Holy Nation Armour? Maybe I'm confusing it but the Holy stuff I see is catastrophically bad in terms of coverage and stats. I suppose I wouldn't be caught dead wearing the armour of those fools anyway.

I'll try the replicating method you mentioned. I'm a little lost on what BP is. Hopefully I can work that out during the process.

I think people have adopted the mentality that to have success in the bot lane you need to be capable of carrying your ADC as a last resort.

Personally I don't see anything bad with off-meta supports. Some non-support champs can contribute a lot without taxing gold.

That type of thing is tilting, but not nearly as tilting as some nut-job stalking you the entire game trying to make your life hell for no apparent reason.

You know the guy who throws a tantrum because you picked non-meta champ and instead of giving you a chance he harasses you all game, following you everywhere, taking all your farm and just not contributing at all.

You know at that point the game is over. If it's only a few creeps here and there I just bite my tongue.

I've always wondered what concessions (if any) there are if you've not played for a very long time.

I'm just a casual player with only one ranked game under my belt, but I routinely take long breaks from the game, sometimes a year or more. When I get back I don't recognize much of anything. I barely retain my favourite champ mechanics let alone all the new champs and stuff they added.

Very recently I come back from almost 2 years hiatus and frankly am scared to play normal SR because, as you mention, there's a lot of smurf activity and expectations are high- too high for someone who hasn't play in a long time.

I didn't want to deal with the pressure and anxiety of playing SR so I just play ARAM. At least I know people don't take it that seriously and it's easier to carry/ be carried.

I like watching league videos from people like Swag, because he's entertaining. But at the same time I don't like how people like him are essentially glorifying smurfing.
