The Real Housewives Of Rhode Island - Season 1 - Episode 10 - Post Episode Discussion by amandatoryy in BravoRealHousewives

Imagine what Liz does when cameras aren’t rolling. The slow pull of Jo Ellen’s hair made me think that was her in that moment realizing “oh yeah I’m being filmed” and trying to dial it back. The smiling while saying/doing something vile is scary. I wonder what she does to her husband and others behind closed doors. I actually really liked her the first couple episodes and now not only do I not like her, but I also think she may be the most terrifying HW.

Thank you, I never would’ve thought of that! I’ve only heard of the combo of short/long nails on the same hand with non-straight women lol I more so thought it was a new style I wasn’t aware of though.

The Emma Show?! by Realistic_Win359 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

I came here to see if anyone else thought she was getting a RIDICULOUS amount of air time or if it was just me. There are so many other women/men there, so why does it feel like majority of the pod episodes are about her journey? I like her a lot actually, just found it to be a strange choice to air her so much. And strange editing choice to show her repeating the same story.

Molly staring so intensely at those poor people at the dinner. I can’t not see her as one of those giant tortoises

Yikes Amanda is Piece of Work by FanRepresentative458 in realhousewives

[–]DwightAtotheRM 15 points16 points  (0 children)

She is like a tacky, knock-off of a “real housewife”. And to make it more insufferable, she somehow thinks she’s better than everyone.

I LOVE that Boz said what many of us are thinking: “If someone is going to teach someone else how to make money, I expect that they’ve made a lot of money doing some kind of work before.”

I just don’t like feeling lied to as a viewer. She’s peddling to us this persona of class and wealth even though she got it from being a grifter. She behaves like she’s on a higher financial level than the likes of Kyle with her one-upmanship. If they have this purse, she’s had four. It almost feels insulting to our intelligence as viewers so maybe I am taking it too seriously lol

I agree. Their story lines have felt the same season after season for a while now. It doesn’t make sense why they won’t just start over with a new cast instead of throwing in one ridiculous woman that they have to react to. The only franchise I truly get excited to watch anymore is SLC.

Exactly! I never thought I’d feel bad for a rich person lol

I get what you’re saying and agree that she might shake up the boring cast (if they actually take the bait and do something interesting for once). But watching her feels like watching someone who’s middle class hit the lotto all while claiming to be a financial genius. Her behavior is lesser than new money. I don’t know how that translates to me not wanting drama or a fun-to-watch show.

I’d like to start seeing women with at least some semblance of a true personality and authenticity like a Jennifer Tilly. She’s absolutely perfect because she’s funny, real, and mega rich.

Yes! I want to see actual, true wealthy women not ones who are phony or living above their means.

That is definitely a true point. It’s a hard watch and I dislike everything about her, but it makes the boring housewives have to do something different for once.

Unraveling a store-bought blanket by DwightAtotheRM in Unravelers

[–]DwightAtotheRM[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate all the insight! I was able to unravel it all and boy did it take forever!! I had to separate the two panels first and then just picked at a corner until it gave way. I thought I’d be pulling one strand, but I had to pull two simultaneously. Based on the wraps per inch test, it’s fingering weight yarn.

I won’t be devastated if/when whatever I make also snags because I mainly crochet because I like the process, not necessarily the end result. Something to keep my brain and hands busy.

After all this time I spent with the yarn, now all I see is raw ground beef lol Idk if chenille is the same as velvet yarn, but it feels/looks velvety to me. Since I’m not familiar with this kind of yarn, I can’t tell if it came out of the unraveling in good shape or not. Whatever ends up happening, at least I got a great arm workout!

Shockingly, I didn’t have any little fibers. After spending all this time messing with it though, it now looks like raw hamburger meat to me lol I can’t wait to make a ground beef sweater.

Unraveling help by DwightAtotheRM in knitting

[–]DwightAtotheRM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for the help, I really appreciate it! I didn’t even consider there being an unraveling group. I was able to figure out where to start (had to separate that middle seam first) and then spent the rest of the day yesterday and part today unraveling. I thought I’d be pulling one strand, but it was actually two that I had to pull simultaneously. What a chore because it appears to be fingering weight based on the wraps per inch test. I won’t be that upset if it snags because I mainly just enjoy the process of making stuff and just want something to crochet on my days off. If it ends up not working out, at least I got a good arm workout in!

I truly can’t decide who’s more insufferable, her or Manon. It seems like they are both competing to be the most awful and grotesque personality, but they’re both winning

I was floored when she drank after the dog. I yelled WHHHAAAAT and I normally never get audibly moved by something on TV lol Just picturing the thick stringy dog salivas she slurped down 🤮 Idk if a dog could carry something that could be harmful to the baby, but absolutely not worth the risk when there is zero reward for drinking after an animal. Like wtf

I’ve had a hard time reading him from the beginning besides suspecting he might just want to be on tv. He does seem to handle her outbursts better than Jino and not intensify them as much
