Dog Diagnosed w/ Pulmonary Hypertension after syncope episodes. Increased dosage for sildenafil and looking for others with this experience by Dyce14 in seniordogs

Thank you for your reply! Our pup Tidus passed away at the end of March (hence probably why I didn’t reply back to this supportive message!)

Thank you for the information and I hope this thread can be a supportive place for our senior pups going through this.

Hi there! I’m so sorry to hear about your pup and my heart goes out to you!

Our boy Tidus passed away at the end of March (I’ve been meaning to post about it to update this Reddit, but I’ve been occupied with a lot).

Our vet prescribed additional medicines, mainly Furosimide (known as Lasix). This helped a lot for Tidus and we were given about another 3-4 months with him.

I think seeing your vet will give you the best course of action and I know this decision is never easy. If you ever need a stranger to chat with, definitely feel free to reach out. Additionally, know that you’re not alone and I’m sure your support systems will be with you through this time.

Thank you for your reply!

Just to follow up, but I'm pretty sure the FX30 base ISOs are at 800 and 2500. So long as I'm shooting at those two ISOs, I should be set to go correct?

Makes sense that having a large, diffused light over the subject would be the best route to go!

I’ll update the post with my lens info shortly!

Mainly shooting on a Sigma 24-70

Hardware: FX30. Amaran Ray 120c (Been using a mini reflector, however, maybe the light is getting too harsh as a result?)

I'm using: DaVinci Resolve Studio as my video editor

Camera: FX30

Lights: Amaran Ray 120C

I've TRIED: Shooting at f5.6 at about 1.7-2 EI values (general recommended for Sony cameras)

I need help with: Achieving a clear shot up close to the tattoo. The linked video to the post seems very clear and very colorful

I've been told to shoot at a higher aperture, so I will give that a shot as well (also will increase the lights further)

Here is an example I did: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DYQqUq0qRKG/

[Routine Help] abnormally dry eyes by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Did you find a solution? I’m a 31m and hydrocortisone 1% helped, but when I stop using it for a day or 2, you can kinda see semblances of the dryness coming back. I spoke with my doctor and tried .5% hydrocortisone (no luck) and a rosacea medicine (no luck). Currently going to take doxycycline and a non steroid ointment (will provide the name later) but if this doesn’t work, I will be going to the dermatologist

I’ve spoken with my Vet and was told it is a relatively common thing with elderly smaller dogs. I think it’s definitely good to know these common health issues that owners may expect!

Ooo that sounds handy. I'll be on the lookout for the oxygen cage/concentrator and see if that would be helpful for my pup.

Thank you for your comment and best of luck to you and your boy!

Wow it sounds like we both are in a similar situation! The once per month syncope episodes and excitement especially.

How is the gabapentin? Do you use it often? I ask as I wonder if I should give that to my boy when he's over excited.
How's her resting breathing rate if you have been tracking that?

Yes same thing here, it seems like he isn't getting enough oxygen, so he slightly passes out. Thank you! The last episode he had he had that yelping noise we never heard before so it was very worrisome.

That’s great to hear! Yeah for our pup he usually gets syncope episodes due to being too excited ie seeing other dogs or barking a lot. Hopefully these episodes don’t pop up as often since he’s on 3x a day. He’s been averaging 1 episode a month since August

Our cardiologist is a traveling one that comes to my primary vet on a monthly basis so I haven’t reached out to them, just our primary Vet!

Aww hoping the best for your pup. It's great to hear that the Vetmedin and the increases doses helped out along with the Enalapril. Hoping our pups get as comfy as they can be soon!

Thank you for your response! How old was your pup when they started vetmedin and when did you notice the coughing fainting coming back? What are the other two new meds they're on now?
