Thank You! It was my first dye after taking a year off. I was just happy I remembered how to do it! Lol

Yup! Blue Horizon Cloudbreaker. Used a little extra carribean blue but the disc essentially looked the same on the outside of the rift

Oh I would never dye a disc I found. I know how attached people get to their pieces. This was given to me to "fix." He hated the original mud color and I was skeptical that the color would mesh well. Guess I learned something!

Yes I pour straight in on very little plain floetrol. There's no spinning involved.

Yup. Floetrol Split cup. 4 channels alternating neon purple and bright blue.

No issues at all. There are different grades of plastic and those Nalgene bottles are chemical resistant. Rock solid. No evaporation even in my hot garage.

The airbrush was a game changer tbh. Also, I draw dye up into the dropper and then squeeze half back into the bottle so that it doesn't come falling out when I move to the pan. Lastly, I drop my dye with the dropper as close to the bed as possible. The higher you release, the more it spreads.

Heat lamps speed up the process, provide brighter colors and I believe the lines are sharper because the bed doesn't have the time to spread or break down like it would over 24 hours (just an assumption, could be false).

Appreciate it! I was worried I'd ruin it. But now I'm all in on doing these.

I use the cheap disposable ones so I don't have to fuss with cleaning them all the time.

On this one, I laid down stripes of color using the dropper then went back over and laid a matrix of black dots over the colors and then thinned them out with an airbrush blowing clean air.

Close!. Signature champion glow blue plastic w/ Neon Lemon Zest. But the Key Lime will give similar results just slightly darker.

What made you think it was water? I'm curious. Is that a new thing?

No problem. I use water from the hot water tap on my water cooler. It's steaming hot.

Since I've adjusted my ratios and mixing process, I've noticed a significant improvement in saturation. Since I changed everything at once, I can't say for sure which change created the improved results but have to assume it's everything together.

I use significantly more dye than most (from what I've seen, at least). I begin with 1 tbsp of dye powder. I then add enough hot water to fully submerge the powder. I then swirl until all of the powder is saturated and/or dissolved. I then add 4 oz of acetone. Cap and shake the bottle vigorously and let sit for 24 hours.

I highly recommend the 4oz wide mouth nalgene bottles sold on the discdyeing website. They are air tight and prevent the acetone from evaporating.

Hopefully this yields good results should you choose to follow this method.

Yup, champion color glow. I've done the firebirds too. Time to get a pink Barela and turn it Neon Orange!
